SerenityReef
That's why I love this hobby, so any different ways! Like you said about kids...they are more resilient then we think. I like to say...If nothing in your tank is dying, your doing nothing wrong. Link to comment

Keeping the algae at bay or at least trying to. Kenya tree is having an off day. He'll pop back up when he's ready. Really not worried. The new acan and war coral frag from Serenity are doing well! notwithit
You can also retrofit a bigger fan into the hood. My 120mm fan uses the same voltage as the two stock ones and keeps the tank cool. Beautiful tank btw! Link to comment

ward827
Some thoughts on my peroxide dosing . . . Will probably not dose again. Maybe a maintenance dose at WC time.I saw some benefit. But that was a cleaner sand bed. As for the algae I think in some way it actually helped to feed it. This could just be my experience. When I stopped dosing after 2 weeks, the algae also startedto recede. Hmmmmmmmm. I can see how dipping would work. 1:1 or full strength. And taking rocks out and dripping on the algae at full strength. I guess that elusive magic algae cure is still out there for someone to discover! Link to comment

ward827
Tank update . . . 7/24/13Got home last night and somehow the tank had become over run (more than the usual) with GHA. Grrrrr. So I thought I'd be able to get in and do the usual toothbrush scrub. Nope. Too much and justwasn't gonna work. Time for plan B . . . taking the rocks out and drizzling peroxide on them. Holy S#$@! What did I get myself into. Was this close | | to tearing down the tank . . . But I kept at it. Cloudy water and all! Well, seeing as how the rocks were out, time to rescape! Added 1 less rock than last time and it reallyopened up the tank. More sand bed area and some nice negative space. Will post a pic when all the corals stop beingso pissed at me! Well, the zoas and hammer are pissed! All the nems and fish are fine. Water cleared up nicely tonight. And the decay from the dying algae has begun! All the inverts and clean up crew have perked up and began eating at the GHA Buffet! Sally 'Gordon' Lightfoot is in heaven! Pics soon. W- Link to comment
