This is a just to stay in photo... tank is being torn down and redone this weekend.... lid is warped due to heat, things generally not happy... Sorry!

Unfortunately we lost some really good tanks this month -- well maybe they weren't that good since they are no longer in the contest ;)

Recently got done with 2 weeks of magnesium treatment for bryopsis. everything is still recovering...

Going thru the cycle again ... :angry: ...

Corals that I added were doing very poorly, after investigating discovered the Finnex heater was cracked and the heater was full of small metallic beads that were dissolving into the water. Pulled out everything, cleaned and replaced the live rock as well as the sand (went black this time).

Well 7 months is when silicon lets go of liverock!!I also startedto get a leak on the tank,But I moved everything over to another 5g tank and will contue the contest.I will have the pictures for the new setup before the Aug deadline.

With all tanks accounted for we still have 15 contestant tanks left in the running so we only lost 2 this past month. ;)

 

When posting your August picture, keep in mind that this picture will be used in the side by side comparison when voting comes for best Pico Methodology. Because of this try and get a really good picture posted with a cleaned tank.

 

Also keep in mind that the Aug picture locks in your livestock for the grow out period and only livestock in the Aug picture is allowed for the rest of the contest. If there is a coral or invert/fish not seen in the picture please let us know when you do the post.

Ok so here is my current list described so you all know what I'm talking about -- Might add to it before the end of the month (hopefully)

 

Equipment:

  • Glass Tank -- 7 x 7 x 7 = 1.5 gallons as base for table lamp.
  • Reefkeeper Lite
  • AquaClear 20 w/ extended water ramp.
  • JBJ ATO.
  • Hydor Theo 50w heater controlled by RKL.
  • 40 mm cooling fan controlled by RKL
  • Silent Air B11 battery powered air pump.
  • Custom LED lighting.

 

Corals:

Turbinaria,

Blue Micro Cloves,

Yellow Polyps,

Nuclear Green polyps,

Waynes World Polyps,

Green polyps -- hasn't opened in a few weeks so I have my doubts.

Green Branching Frogspawn -- got it as a hammer but I think it's really a frog spawn

Finger/Tree type leather -- Removed this but there are 1 or 2 small frags of it floating around behind the rocks.

Orange Zoa's -- I hope they make it but I have my doubts

Bright Blue Zoa's -- Once again I hope

Green Stripped Shroom --- Upfront -- mostly lost it's stripes

Red Shroom -- was doing really good until the Kenya tree stung it -- I removed the Kenya -- I hope the red shroom comes back

Green Toadstool style leather.

 

No Fish

 

No Inverts

 

No Macros -- so I won't submit pic for Macro Part of Prizes.
