Weetabix7
So wait, the bottom is the refugium and the top is the display? And the refugium is larger than the display? What do you have attached to that clamp for a light over the top? Link to comment
Deleted User 6
I think we should redefine the tanks - they are both displays. Since I'm going to put fish in the fuge, it will cease to be a fuge (not longer a refuge for anything). So now I've got 2 displays - one that is heavily stocked with macro algae. The clamp is holding the return from the MJ1200 in place. I need to get a connector for 1/2" pipe to 3/4" pipe so that I can hook up my u-return again. And D - NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! You don't have any spare sand, do you Also, lighting will be LED's over the top display. Lighting for the bottom display is 2 40w T5 fixtures. I need to talk to stevieT about getting a small drop-in fuge light for the chaeto chamber in the back of the bottom display as well. Link to comment

JBM
Once I man up, I'll frag my zoa rock. Nothing crazy on the rock. But green is always a nice touch to a new tank ;-) Link to comment

Deleted User 6
Found some rust on the rock wall - looks like the landlord was using steel wool near the tank in the backyard while the epoxy was curing and some particles got stuck in the epoxy. Anyone know how harmful a small bit of rust is in the tank and how to negate the harm? Link to comment
Deleted User 6
Params with new setup (DD H2O Pro salt): pH: 8.2 Alk: 12 Calc: 500 Mag: 1520 Sal: 1.023 (was 1.025 but I added too much topoff water - did it over a couple hours so no coral shock) This is with about 80% fresh saltwater mixed over the weekend.
