will monti caps out grow my tank?

No, you frag them and then they won't outgrow your tank. I'd put them higher in the tank under 70W.

get the candy canes and monti cap. a cap is gonna be my next coral i get!

i want to get them but i dont know if i can yet.

if your tank is fully cycled there should be no worry of adding either one of these corals...

 

Under your lighting the monti cap can go anywhere, the candy cane I would place towards the bottom, or off to the side in an area that doesn't receive as much direct light this will help to prevent it from bleaching.

 

what kind of metal halide fixture do you have? or is it diy?

I went once but the corals being offered were what I would consider "high end" or LE corals. The best bet for good prices on regular corals would be at a SCNRS Frag Swap.

hawkfish arent very hard to keep. he doesnt pick at my zoas or yellow polyps and they are really fun to watch.

 

is it worth going to the coral farmers market? even if there are high end corals are there still some good deals on frags?
