Chalice euphylllia > another smaller chalice and zoas, although some of my zoas grow literally right next to it without a hiccup.

So, I wanted to add some color to my tank since it's got very little and only little softy frags. I was planning on the next purchase being a hammer frag. I have two small palys, two small star polyps and one fair sized star polyp, and one rock with two good hairy mushrooms on it. Will a hammer play well in that situation? Oh and a small zoa off by itself.

This is the coral fight club.

But a hammer will be fine as long as it has room.

Hammer euphillia > Duncanopsammia

Hands down. Hammer wanted more real estate .....and started sending out sweepers constantly. Moved Duncan away and recovered nicely. I think Duncan's are the golden retriever of the reef. Not a sore bone in its body.

Finger leather > hairy mushroom > Pavona. Pavona is really taking a beating from the shroom. And the area where the shroom is in contact with the leather is retracted. All three of them are within close proximity of each other but neither one is giving in.

I never would have thought the Pavona would be so wimpy.

interesting- that chalice looks like hollywood stunner to me- or in my experience, hollywood stinger

I took it out of my tank back when I had it a few years ago- sweepers were insanely long at night and totally nuked whatever it could touch.

ricordea florida = discosoma

They've been cuddled up together for a while now

discosoma > rhodactis

In the back the other disco seems to be scaring the rhodactis (I think?) away, though it's possible the rhodactis just doesn't like the light or something else.

I now have something to add:

Zoanthus>Hammer (Pandoras killed my Yellow Hammer!)

Zoanthus>Zoanthids (Purple Monsters have over-run 3 species zoanthid colonies now, Dragon Eyes, Fruit Loops and LA Lakers)

Note: Every once in awhile, Dragon Eyes will pop up and are sprinkled among the mat of PMs.

Blastomussa=Micromussa (They rub all up on eachother with no issue!)

Blastomussa >Zoanthus (Fends them off, does not appear interested in eating them...)

Micromussa>Zonathus (I caught him EATING Pandoras the other day!)

Zoanthus v Millipora (Ongoing, so far though, they don't appear to be stinging each other, just the zoanthus growing over the the Milli)

Zoanthus v Acropora (same as Milli, but no overgrowth yet)

Zoanthus v Montipora cap. (slowly overgrowing my Monti Cap!)

Zoanthus v Montipora dig. (overgrowing slowly, but surely)

Aiptasia v Purple Monsters v LA Lakers v Gobstoppers (eventually, it appears the aiptasia will win...)

Edit: Also, both are > vermetid snails.

They went back at it again the other day, and this time I had my DSLR out instead of the camera on my phone and caught them mid-action. Round 2 went to the acro again, but this time it hit way harder and killed back a much bigger area.

NoOneLikesADryTang

I just happened to stumble on to this thread today, and I definitely think it's one of the most helpful threads on NanoReef, I wish I would have seen it sooner. Below are my limited experiences. I've got a couple more pieces are about to touch, so I'll probably add those at a future date.

Duncan > Orange Motipora Setosa  : Solution - Frag them both and put them in to time out in the main tank. The duncan shouldn't be able to tickle the setosa for a little while, now.

RFA > Tort Acro : Solution - I was hoping the tort would start growing away from the RFA, but it wouldn't so ended up pulling it and putting it in the frag tank for now. At least it's keeping the Setosa and Duncans company.

Oh no you didn't.

 I was actually making these doodles for my pico thread, but was excited to find an actual Coral Fight Club thread.  LOL.  I just added another one to my pico thread (won't clutter this thread anymore with my random doodles).
