teenyreef
I have very beautiful but very evil favites. They grow sweeper tentacles that kill everything they've ever touched. Which isn't much once I learned my lesson. But I can testify that favites -> acan lords. Oh, they also killed my yellow scroll coral (turbinaria). In this picture, the killer sweeper tentacle glued onto the edge of the turbinaria is almost three inches long: 1 Quote Link to comment
teenyreef
Here's another interesting one - acro vs monticap. Neither one likes touching the other, but the monticap isn't deterred, it's just going over and around the acro. I think it's hoping the suffocate the acro, but maybe it will turn out like the picture @micoastreefing took, with the digi growing right up through the monticap. 2 Quote Link to comment
RayWhisperer
LE Angry Pavona. It was a joke among a few geek friends. Everybody eventually got a frag that had perpetual sweeper extension. Those frags didn’t retract them for many months in all tanks. This being during the whole LE craze, hence the name, LE Angry Pavona. So, the story. RBTA takes over clown tank. Eventually, all corals are dead, but the Pavona colony. While the Pavona did take a beating, as one side was completely gone. The rest of it maintained an armada of sweepers that were extended day and night, keeping the BTA at bay. Luckily for me, the live side faced the front of the tank. It was actually very festive looking, as most of the tank was red, with a big patch of green right in the center. 2 Quote Link to comment
Goneaway562
Kenya Tree > Acro. I had to chop that tree down real quick. 1 Quote Link to comment
dawz2
Scolymia beats Trachyphyllia These 2 have been huddled up for the last several weeks without an issue. Yesterday, I woke up to find this... It looked like the Trachy was attacking the Scoly, but after closer inspection it looks like the Scoly is the champ! The Trachy will be sore for awhile. They have been separated. No warfare this morning! 1 Quote Link to comment

Sunstar
I had a corky sea finger gorgonian lean against a purple ribbon gorg, and killed off half the ribbon. I separated them and the ribbon recovered (mostly). I don't have pics though. Quote Link to comment
Cannedfish
Today’s match, a classic Backglass Brawl: noname kinda ugly acro vs. no name kinda ugly acro! The drama, the intrigue, ladies and gentlemen get those bets in and hold on to your seat this is going to be, most likely, anticlimactic! Sorry about the photo the angle and refraction made it tough! 3 1 Quote Link to comment
teenyreef
For me, acro vs acro usually ends up being a draw, with a tiny no mans land line between them. Green slimer vs katropora: 5 Quote Link to comment

nicholc2
So I just noticed on my IP cam that my fungia has literally climbed the side of one of my rocks and is right against one of my RFAs. Unfortunately the camera is still in IR mode since the tank lights haven't come on yet, but from what I can tell so far no damage and I would think it would move away if it was getting hurt, but once the lights come on I should be able to see. Not sure how the wife will feel about rescuing the plate. She doesn't typically enjoy putting her hands in the tank. LOL RFA > Fungia > RFA ??? TBD Quote Link to comment
Cannedfish
Some action from this week’s coral fights (there are a lot of them going on). As expexted, the Acan Echinata (the most cold blooded killer in my tank) absolutely lit up a bubble gum digi. I think the digi will recover, but for those keeping score at home, the echinata has attacked the following: -Walking dendro (murdered) -RFA (completely devoured) -Button Scoly (damaged) -Digi (scorched everything it could reach) Also, kind of surprisingly, the cyphastrea is beating up on the pectinia. But I don’t know, I wouldn’t poke that bear the pectinia might be the only thing more fearsome than the echinata in my tank... —— Pictures! Don't mess with an echinata... Unknown acro just growing over a bali shortcake (may be some grafting happening?) The constant battle between the WWC Purple Passion and the Toxic Monti. 1 Quote Link to comment

Neither seem to be hurt. Interestingly, though, that RFA is usually spread completely out. He’s definitely not trying to touch the fungia. Fear? Respect? Annoyance? Who knows? on a side note while I knew that fungia could move around the sand bed I had no idea they could climb rocks! 1 Quote Link to comment
nicholc2
Went ahead and separated them just to be safe. No damage that I can see to either of them. The RFA was fully expanded when I got home so was covering about a quarter of the fungia so I guess he got over it. LOL Still calling this one a draw. 🙂 Quote Link to comment

Mike7323
Should I be worried about a large plate coral inching towards a war coral colony? It even sounds bad... 1 Quote Link to comment
