frankdr
Heading through DFW airport? Yep. That's my home airport. I was in Terminal E Friday, but I was at gate 37 and didn't feel like hiking down to the 20's at 1am.. Link to comment
frankdr
Nice tank. following. Thanks - I see you've got a JBJ 28 too. Check the link in my sig to some history on mine. Link to comment
da1001
Love that airport, but all the ongoing building is annoying as hell. Got stuck there one night and had to change terminals before they turned off the tram for the night because there was so much work going on behind their sheets they had hung to keep the riff raff out. frankdr
Got back in town Sunday and noticing my Zoas are looking odd - the outer 'skirts' are extra long. Any ides why? They have looked the same for months.. Posted a question in the corals forum http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/355251-zoas-are-getting-fuzzy/ Link to comment
Mike Savage
The tank is looking good. What settings are you using on your lights? Zoa skirts get longer with more flow but I don't know if that is the cause for yours. Link to comment
frankdr
The tank is looking good. What settings are you using on your lights? I'm getting up to 30/35/35 at peak. I have 8 settings. Here's the details T1 8am 30m 3/3/3 T2-10am 30m 10/12/12 T3 11am 30m 15/18/18 T4 12am 160m 29/33/35 T5 3:30pm 180m 18/18/20 T6 7:00pm 80m 9/9/10 T7 10pm 60m 2/3/3 T8 11pm 60m 0/1/4 lunar Zoa skirts get longer with more flow but I don't know if that is the cause for yours. Thanks for the feedback - I was looking at some searches and got the same answer. interestingly, these guys have been in the same spot for about 4 months. I did recently clean the return pump, which upper the flow noticeably - so that would makes sense. I liked the shorter look, but as long as they're healthy, I'm good with that. Link to comment
frankdr
Guess who decided to make an appearance... I added him last Saturday, and this is the first I saw him. I was getting ready to start moving rocks to find him, another.. and another... Link to comment
Mirya
Finally got hungry enough to venture out! I added a basslet a few weeks ago to my Nuvo24. He was staying under an overhang of rock for the first few days, but now whenever he sees me he swims over to the side of the tank where I feed. And un-fishy-related, I like the corkscrew of your white RFA tentacles. Link to comment
cindyp
love your fishie, doc. and your white flower nem is so stunning! how big is she now? 4 inches? Link to comment
frankdr
how big is she now? 4 inches? The white RFA a few weeks back was closer to 5" - it was realy scrunched up for a few days but it's open, but a little smaller. I've noticed it moving a bit - especially after I had to move rocks a few weeks ago. Although the face has moved a bit, it appears that it's foot has pretty much stayed in the same place. Another interesting piece of info, Is that the tank was running a nitrate level of 10 to 20. Since adding the Caulerpa Fern and Dragon's breath (good bit of it) the Dragon's breath went from light pink to deep red, with orange highlights on the tip. The Fern went from 3 'leaves' to over 30 and nitrates are almost zero (<0.25ppm) Link to comment

He's on the top of the rock, so I got him in a top-down shot Here's a (so/so) FTS - with my RG making a guest appearance. I think he's figured out.. 1. He's the only fish in his new world 2. The big guy brings food. The frag plugs are for some macros that are in there temporarily - they do so well in here.. oh, and the other RFA wanted her picture taken too.. Link to comment
TeamIM24
Our first royal gramma hid a lot. Our current one is out in the open almost all day. Link to comment

frankdr
And un-fishy-related, I like the corkscrew of your white RFA tentacles. Didn't really notice until you pointed it out.. They used to be straight in earlier pictures.. One more for ya.. Link to comment
frankdr
Noticed some of the stars in the tank having an interesting pattern - 6 legs - 3 long and 3 short. At first I thought it was just unique to a particular star, but I noticed more than one with the same shape. This one is about 1 1/2" and this one is 1/2" at most. Those are GSP polyps nearby, ..and look who decided to stick her foot on the front glass Link to comment
frankdr
Brought home a new friend.. Blue Sapphire (Springers) Damsel. After acclimating and releasing him, he disappeared in the rocks for about 5 hours and now he's out patrolling around. My Gramma isn't too sure about all this.. he's staying close to his hiding spot. . Link to comment
owenj
Love the sapphire damsel! I've been looking at them--supposedly "peaceful" (for a damsel ), and will handle flatworms? Link to comment
ninjamyst
Loved mine when I had him. Their body is reflective blue with lightning pattern. Really cool under LEDs. Mine killed all the flatworms in my tank within days. And very peaceful. Did not bother my firefish or clown. Great great fish. I regret giving him away =(. Link to comment

Did not bother my firefish or clown. Great great fish. I regret giving him away =(. My JBJ 28 is having a flatworm explosion right now. If Damsels weren't so hard to catch, I'd send him over to the other tank to do some cleanup. Or I might get a second one for that tank. I already have 5 Pajama Cardinals and two clowns, so I'm not too sure about more fish in there, bioload wise.. but my Aquamaxx HOB1 is rated for more than double the tank size, so I may be ok. Water params always come back fine. The Royal Gramma seems to be a little nervous about his new tankmate, but neither is picking on the other one - so that's good.. Link to comment
kimberbee
Cute new fish! Your stars must all be related then to have that same "defect"! Link to comment
frankdr
Been on the road this past week.
