Mine doesn't have good polyp extension either, but is growing fast.

i can't tell if there's growth. i'll need to wait for legit pictures before i can tell. i've had it for almost a month, so there should be growth.

I've been running a slow PH roller coaster. I have co2 issues in the basement and if I don't do anything my PH drops to 7.65 at night, which is dangerous. This is from a calibrated probe, calibrated 3 times now just to make sure. I ran a hose outside to bring in fresh air which helps, and started using Kalc in topoff with a fan on the sump to increase evaporation.

I'm slowly switching to Seachem Reef salt with elevated Boron to help keep PH up. /shrug Just a belated idea I had for your SPS trouble, but I'm not sure if high PH is detrimental. RHF says 8.3 should be the max.

I haven't done anything to chase pH. And I don't think I want to start. I'm sure there's a simple solution to lowering pH. I just haven't done it yet.

I wouldn't either. My concern, for my tank, is that at 7.6 PH corals start to melt. :D If I can hold above 7.7 I'm happy.

It's weird. I had my probe in the sump and the pH was changing so drastically. So I moved it to the display and it now has a normal rise and fall.

Hmmm. I have a handheld probe as well but I never checked inside the display.

Copious amounts of food and you'll have it all the time (barring predation) :)

Doubt it. I feed soooooooo much and I get nada.

Mark thinks it's the angel. Because the sps on the frag racks up top have good PE. But the sps on the rocks don't. It makes sense.

i live for these updates... lol

side note, this tank is likely getting a chiller. the swing from 78-84 is just insane.

i went to the JBJ site to figure out what size i need, looks like a 1/5th horsepower is the size they recommend.

got some test results:

ca: 370

alk: 7.7

looks like ca needs to go up from 24ml per day. gonna increase it to 28ml.

alk is staying steady at 7.5-7.7 which is good. but what worries me is the fact that i'm only dosing 18mL of alk... seems a bit off. maybe it's a potency issue?

oh God don't tempt me. I can't even put a hand in the tank it's so jammed in there.

I can see growth. The branch in the very middle that is facing the camera. And the coralites are getting elongated at the top of all the branches also. The color is moving towards more purple vs magenta. As for PE, this coral is a night owl.

I get PE at night. So I least I have that going for me.

oh lawd.

VERY nice clams Mr. Klein.
