metrokat
All I can point to is the difference between hobby grade kits and lab results. It is also possible that my kits have expired. Quote Link to comment
TheKleinReef
My mom really wants a flame hawkish but I'm worried about aggression from the fish I already have.... Any opinions? Quote Link to comment

TheKleinReef
Big time. Poop. I want another fish, just not sure what to get. I want another leopard but I haven't found one that eats mysis. That or a hogfish... Hmm. Quote Link to comment
TheKleinReef
The frag room is eerily quiet with the frag tank no longer running. Gonna use the stand to hold the brutes for SW mixing. It's a shame I have to put all the awesome equipment in storage until I can set up a new tank... one day I'll have a tank again. Quote Link to comment

TheKleinReef
Love that BTA its pretty cool when the vortech blows showing the oral disk ad the green shows through. sometimes i wish it wasn't so bubbly so the green was more evident, but other times i love how it looks like a flower. i'm glad they didn't wander though. these nems have never wandered, very well behaved nems. >.< Quote Link to comment
metrokat
Oh pffft. Everybody wants it to stay bubbly like that. A vendor told me the only way to keep it that way is to never let clownfish get in there. 1 Quote Link to comment

TheKleinReef
found 4 more zoa eating nudies, looks like i didn't space my dips out well enough. hopefully i can get them under control. did some testing today: Ca: 415 (hooray! got it back down!) Alk: 7.5 dKH (i've let it dip below 8 again, its been here for almost 2.5 weeks now) Mg: 1380 pH: 8.2 [apex probe] SG: 1.026 Temp: 77.9 I'm about to spend the next hour testing K+ haha. edit: tested K+ and got 380 as a result. seems 15mL wasn't enough per week to hold it at 400. i burned through the elos Potasstium bottle in just under 8 months. any body know of a better long term potassium dosing solution? Has anyone found any negatives to using Seachem's Potassium for planted tanks? I've used it and nothing died, but it's not made for reefs and honestly I'm not sure it's cost effective. I'd invest in a potassium test kit before doing any further dosing to establish your current levels and dosing schedule. Quote Link to comment

I tested 420 or so, I remember it being higher then "normal". I remember looking at my tank and thinking, well, even if this did something odds are something else might be wrong and I never want to do this damn test again! EVER! So I haven't. 2 Quote Link to comment

TheKleinReef
snapped some night pictures. i do like how coral colors look under <10K lighting... might end up running a warmer tank with actinics in the future. not the best shots. i'm exhausted. i've been packing all day. https://flic.kr/p/okiePf'>https://flic.kr/p/okiePf'>bali green slimer at night july 2014 by https://www.flickr.com/people//'>xMrKleinReef, on Flickr https://flic.kr/p/o5QxpA'>https://flic.kr/p/o5QxpA'>RMK_0620.jpg by https://www.flickr.com/people//'>xMrKleinReef, on Flickr https://flic.kr/p/onizf3'>https://flic.kr/p/onizf3'>RMK_0619.jpg by https://www.flickr.com/people//'>xMrKleinReef, on Flickr https://flic.kr/p/onk9it'>https://flic.kr/p/onk9it'>RMK_0616.jpg by https://www.flickr.com/people//'>xMrKleinReef, on Flickr https://flic.kr/p/onk9dD'>https://flic.kr/p/onk9dD'>RMK_0614.jpg by https://www.flickr.com/people//'>xMrKleinReef, on Flickr wish i thought of taking night pictures a while ago so i couple practice it... 3 Quote Link to comment

TheKleinReef
Gotta enjoy the last 14 hours with the tank. Tomorrow I leave for Boise. Expect a lot of landscape photography shots in my DSLR Thread. Everything is doing very well. Parameters are rock solid, the routine is perfected, all information is readily available for the 'rents. This tank is now theirs. :0 hope I can start another tank soon. Quote Link to comment
