lalani, you should enter into this Reed Mariculture product naming contest; for your entry, they give free samples of top-dressed otohime ("The top selling hatchery larval diet from Japan, 'Top-Dressed' with astaxanthin, natural feed stimulants, a natural immune-stimulant and more. High quality nutrition. Easy to use. No mess, no fuss").

Ah nope, I'm in the other direction, half way up I49. But you're in luck! You're in the overnight range of UPS ground so shipping to you would only be $10. :)

Knife valve would probably fit there without having to redo all the plumbing.

Thanks for the tip! :)

Or you could make a screw in cap for the inside of the bulkhead if the bulkhead is a thread/thread. That would probably cost less than $3.00 then you could cut and plumb in a valve without draining the sump. I know I am sooo smart.....lol

If you are going to redo the plumbing, putting a ball valve on the return side with unions so you can get the pump out probably would be a good idea also. The only way I see to get the pump out it with a hacksaw. lol

But I am still jealous of your skillz. It makes me want to take on another project. LOL

Hmmmmmm! I'll check to see if I got the thread/thread bulkhead. A cap would be so much easier. :D

Good ideas!

And lol, like you need any more projects :P

Ya! I'm going to pull out a few more and put them in the holding tank today. Then I'll snap some pics and send them your way. Unfortunately I don't have any with helmets and I only spotted one with a single sideburn but haven't been able to spot him in a while. They are fast little buggers!

Lani, what settings are you using when you shoot the close-ups of your fish with your 100mm macro lens? I'm having trouble balancing a speed that will stop the action but still provide enough depth of field. Any tips? I'm using a tripod but I'm still not happy with the shots. Thanks!!

Hey Eileen, some of the pics are shot on P mode under brighter lighting, but others are taken with the manual settings around 1/200 f8 auto-ISO and an external diffused flash. :)

Breeding the Darwin and Onyx would be pretty cool. Not many people breed them.

Yes it does! I want to start a pair and breed them once I get my Broodstock system going this summer.

you should, it would be fun, how many pairs do you plan on having and what do you think your broodstock system will look like?
