Can this same process be applied to base rock before you add water to the tank?

Yes. The putty will hold more of the rock especially if it is before you add water. For scapes where the rock is balanced putty will work, where it is unbalanced there is no way. Use acrylic rod for this.

Good info indeed but I need to find an epoxy that works. The Water Weld from JB is pretty useless in my book.

 

I'll have to look around locally for Aquamend.

Can someone put a link to the epoxy that Lowes sells that is safe. I was looking for something today (since I get my rock today) And I want to get it all epoxied togeather today so I could get it into the tank tommarow. (its all dry right now)

 

I looked on lowes site but theres so many o nthere and its really confusing.
