FlowerMama
More pics!! He's just chillin on his favorite! II just put coral frenzy in the tank so it's more hazy. THERE!!! One moved! It went to be with the other green one, covering it up almost. I love the little flecks of color in this one. Another baby Getting more detail. I like the dark ring around this one. This one's not as dark. 3 Quote Link to comment
FlowerMama
You can turn it way down and don't forget the head pressure will take a bit of that away as well. I use the DCS4000, 8000 and 12000 pumps on my tanks. The 3000 does the 57 and 50 cubes quite well. If you're going to run a reactor of some sort you'll lose a little there too. All of mine are dead quiet, they get noisy when they need to be cleaned. Same with the CoralBox skimmers, love them as well. I checked Amazon, tomorrow is payday. Jebao DCS3000 80.41 Jebao DCT4000 71.32 It said this one will be replacing the DCS3000. so should I just get this one? it's only 12 g in the system probably, not like it's going to take a lot to move the water. Will it fit in the sump that is the question.......... They do make a smaller one I think if you are not wanting a ton of flow. I think its a 2000 or 1800 not sure though. 1 Quote Link to comment
FlowerMama
It better. The 5.5 g rectangular tank is all that fits below in the stand and it is 16 x 8. The DCS 3000 is 7 x 8.5. I was only thinking to put one divider which was to separate off that pump but I don't believe I have room to do that. SO, it has to be a no for DCS3000 & up- takes up too much room. I have to have my rock in there and at least carbon. I just found a Jebao WP1500 which is 400GPH-- $21.38 & free shipping from Jebao. https://www.amazon.com/Jebao-PP388-AP-388-Submersible-Fountain/dp/B00BBMLEK6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1484883211&sr=8-1&keywords=Jebao%2Bsubmersible%2Bpump&th=1 DIMENSIONS: 3.5" x 2.25" x 4.5" in another spot it says 4x4x4, whichever it will still fit better 25 Watts VOLTS: 110-120V 60Hz MAX FLOW RATE: 400gph H-MAX:8.2 Ft Included 3 size hose adapters 1/2", 3/4" & 1"; 6 foot long power cord Would this work? From Sump to top of tank overflow it's only a touch over 3 ft. Quote Link to comment
spectra
Well says max 8.2 so will probably lose a little flow but may work. I know you are looking for a inexpensive pump but a sicce 2.0 may be what you are after. Quote Link to comment
FlowerMama
I heard Sicce are quiet. But it's more about size. I need to fit rock in there and the pump. The Sicce is 8 x 3 x 5 inches and the tank is 16 x 8. It'll take up half the space! No room for sock, ok, then just media, rock, pump. See, running out of space and filtration is a must. ninjamyst
So move it, slide a credit card under & give it a harder push and it'll give. Mine were fine, then they grew more and half of it ended up bending up along the glass. I don't mind really. tried that recently. didn't budge =( Quote Link to comment
FlowerMama
Next strongest is Jebao WP-2000 Submersible, Hydroponics, Aquaponics, Fountain Pump 530gph, 45w. DIMENSIONS: 4.0" x 2.5" x 6.0". That's the biggest regarding space I think I can go.tried that recently. didn't budge =( Just try pushing harder w/ that driver's license or credit card. I was surprised at the suction they have. Quote Link to comment
spectra
Where do you get those dimensions from? Its only 5x3 or so. I have one in the back of my nuvo 30 and the chamber is only 4" deep and it fits perfect. 1 Quote Link to comment

Well, that size is doable. Weird how off Amazon was on the size. With that size it's a winner. And then I can still buy a 3/4" ball joint for it for some regulation. Thanks Spectra! And this is why I loooove this site. Someone is always willing to help you with something. I hope to get the rest of the plumbing items this Sun. 1 Quote Link to comment

FlowerMama
Ive got the syncra 2.5 I believe. Super quiet. Great pump. Thanks for helping enforce what I'm doing now. Makes me feel good about it being quiet. This will be such a cool little tank. I can't wait. I had a girl come over after work as she had interest in my grandis paly. We have 80 people in our local club. Not one person bit when I said I had 6 palys, each $20, I fed them once since cutting in Dec and they each have a head already. I'm like, WTH is wrong with this local club, they want it completely free!. Well, this girl drove from Cherokee in TN which is more than what I'd considered local to here to buy one for herself and one for a friend. So, I made 40 bucks to go towards the pump. Yey!!! And she became more interested in rock flowers when she saw the babies. Probably the shipped (box) size that they display. That's probably it. Thanks. Oh, and my corky finger came in. They said 3", it's 5" so I'm very excited and paying $25.98 including shipping was a great deal. Can't wait to see the fluffiness. With as much as I feed it should be happy. I'm so in love with this rock flower. Hope it's a great parent. And more pics of old babies. Like time came & went & the mamas didn't yet spawn from the Dec 4 male spawning. I'm like C'MON!!! Looks like we have some twins here. 2 Quote Link to comment

spectra
Pump has been purchased! Yey, comes Monday. What did you go with in the end? And I have learned over the years yes most fish geeks are cheap there are a lot of people on this forum that are a rarity......... I had a few local to me ask about building a stand I gave them the price and they said do it........I almost shit myself as most are cheap penny pinchers........ Quote Link to comment

FlowerMama
I went to Lowes with my friend Randi and I made the mistake of not bringing the overflow drain part with me so I have to bring 2 pieces back, look for a male adapter going from 1.5" to 1" and then a 1.5" slip tomorrow. Got $33 of stuff. Will finish painting tomorrow. The corky is doing well. Started opening as soon as lights were on today. 2 Quote Link to comment
FlowerMama
I need to go find where I put the plumber's tape too. Anywhere I could we found threaded pieces. less than 15 mins go bye. I'm back. Cool, just found it. 2 Quote Link to comment
teenyreef
Hahahaha if you only make one trip to Lowe's I will be super impressed 1 Quote Link to comment
FlowerMama
Hahahaha if you only make one trip to Lowe's I will be super impressed I already failed yesterday. Me & Randi didn't measure the drain at the top and bought the wrong size, going with what the guy in our local club told me so instead of 1", have to return 2 pieces for 1.5". When I returned yesterday I should've brought the piece with me. I'm Polish remember, I didn't. After being in the rain yesterday all day, I don't feel like doing it today. Aside from Lowes we went to a new LFS. One in town closed and this new one opened, so it looks really great and only had a few pieces in right now but great prices so far. And it's a big store, so I'm excited. But look, my pump came today instead of tomorrow. 2 Quote Link to comment
FlowerMama
I put a 2nd coat on the outside just now. I only put one inside, I'll do the inside later today but it's looking really good. I think it's really gonna look sharp. Still drying so that's why it looks streaky on the front. And I bought a barrel lock for the door, there's not even a handle. Otherwise it just swings inside and once the tank is up top I won't be able to put my hand in there to push the door back out. 2 Quote Link to comment
FlowerMama
And cool thing. I had 6 grandis paly for sale locally. Gave one to my friend. Then 2 people that just joined and are a bit further than local bought 2 each. So I have one left locally. I cut them in Dec and no one made a move, I asked $20 a paly. All of a sudden Fri I get two inquiries. So I made $80 and that paid for my pump for the nursery tank. Yey! And all palys have already sported baby tissue after I fed each head a week ago. They love this nano-box light. 5 Quote Link to comment
