calvin415
It only looks that way because of the zoom, to the naked eye the rock looks pretty clean... I don't think it will cause any issues as it's looking a ton better than when I first got it. 9 Day's ago: Again, today... Link to comment
calvin415
I have more good news! I no longer have any heat issues... Before my chiller was kicking in a few times a day. Not a big deal, but if it's doing this in Winter, Summer will kill me! I slapped on a couple fans and my tank dropped over 4 degrees! Maybe more since the chiller kept if from going over 82... Anyway, I'll take some shots of the fans soon, definately a great alternative! Link to comment

Sebea
Yea, in just 9 days? Wow, that is some improvement! Have the fans dramaticly increased the evaporation? Link to comment
calvin415
Thanks Pili, I was pretty shocked too! Thanks Aaron! I'm sure it's increased evap, but I really haven't noticed it too much. I usually fill up my ATO bucket ever-other-day, and I'm still doing that... Link to comment
calvin415
Bad day yesterday... I got home from Denver to find my A. clathrata RTN'd 50% I quickly got it out of there and fragged what was left... I hope I can save something. Link to comment
kinetic
yikes! that really sucks! any idea what might have caused it? (usually nobody knows). are your other corals doing ok? Link to comment
calvin415
I have a feeling it was due to stress. Everything else looks great but for some reason the A. clathrata never colored up and was actually looking stressed until this... The pieces I fragged I've moved to the bottom of the tank and will let them chill here for the next week to see if they respond any better. Link to comment

Oh man, I want one of those. Those are very cool. I got mine from Miguel with fragglereef, it was a little brown at first, but it's colored right up, and for the price (40 for a very large 1/2") you can't beat it. Sorry everyone, I've been getting lazy on my pictures... I'll try to get some more taken soon, there are some more pics on my homepage and will actually be posting most of them there. http://www.tankblogger.com/ViewTanks.aspx?TankID=4 Link to comment

calvin415
I've added a video of the tank, it's not great because I can't adjust the white balance on my camera on the video setting, so it looks a lot bluer than it really is. Anyone knows a tip? http://www.tankblogger.com/VideoViewer.aspx?UID=2 Link to comment
SaltCreep
Hey how about some updates here on this site? Link to comment
calvin415
Sorry guy's been busy working on other projects... Nothing too new, I've fragged and sold some corals, bought a baby F Blue Jaw Trigger for the tank and so far she's been a model citizen. I'll try to get some pics soon. I'm building a 20G setup for a buddy and waiting for the funds from another friend that wants a 46x8x8 nano w/ built in filtration. I'm hoping to begin working on my basement soon and once that's finished I have permission to start piecing together my next tank. (315 Gallon 84*36*24 FOWLR Peninsula room divider). Again I'll post pics of my tank soon, but here's some shots of the 20G I'm building for a friend. http://www.tankblogger.com/imageFull.aspx?ImageID=144 http://www.tankblogger.com/imageFull.aspx?ImageID=136 http://www.tankblogger.com/imageFull.aspx?ImageID=138 Overflow box once we drill the tank. http://www.tankblogger.com/imageFull.aspx?ImageID=183 Link to comment

Sebea
Yea..but...a 315 FOWLR with some kick butt triggers, 2 or 3 large angels, NON-reef safe butterflies...you get the picture. Plus, you always have the option of going reef. Link to comment
