Just earlier today I picked up some green birdsnest. Bonus pic showing my acros coming back from brown-town (garf bonsai and a no-name mariculture frag) 1 Quote Link to comment
Jaren45
This is what my water changes look like at the moment. To say this sand is dusty would be an understatement, but it'll get better over time. Still love the look of it regardless Quote Link to comment
Jaren45
Full tank shot for today, this week I picked up some green/blue stag and rearranged my gorgs/softies 1 Quote Link to comment
Jaren45
Here is my 2 other innovative marine tanks, 6g and 10g. I can't keep track of 3 threads so I just wanted to share some more nanos for you guys 1 Quote Link to comment
Jaren45
Quick full tank shot, this week I noticed my zoas really start to regain their original super bright colors. Hopefully my acros follow soon, keepin it stable and praying! 1 Quote Link to comment
hinnenkm
Looking forward to seeing where this goes! I've got the same tank 🙂 I don't update much on here, but am @norther_reefs on Instagram if you happen to be on there. I would suggest renting a par meter to see where you're at with your primes - great lights, but I was surprised at how low of a par I had them set at (was running at close to 60%). Take care! 3 Quote Link to comment

That's been one of my main concerns, on top of adding a 3rd in the middle eventually i've been slowly pushing them higher. Around 43w each I believe, so still a little room if I need more power. but by doing this my zoas have all but stopped stretching so I know i'm on the right track. 2 Quote Link to comment
Jaren45
Quick full tank shot and update Added a few more frags I'm excited about, including some red planet, another mystery mariculture frag, and some blue digi Colors and polyp extension is looking great! 1 Quote Link to comment
Jaren45
Added a pygmy hawkfish this week, unfortunately he's still so shy I can't get a photo of him. Also I am not having much luck with my chalices, I think I may be burning them 2 Quote Link to comment
Jaren45
Semi weekly update: Tank is happy! Added some miami hurricane chalice, ff digi, and some stargazer/daisy cutter zoas Coralline algae is taking off faster each day, and colors/overall health is looking good. In case anyone wants to know, my feeding regimen is PE flakes & Coral Frenzy slurry every morning, plus occasionally feeding Rod's coral blend Also started dosing acropower, just 5ml every few days. I think I'm seeing better polyp extension but it could just be placebo. That's it for now thanks for reading! 1 Quote Link to comment
Jaren45
Got this acro today for cheap, was told it wasn't a pearlberry but it looks similar. manager couldn't remember the name so y'all's guess is as good as mine! Happy to get some blue into the mix though. Quote Link to comment
Jaren45
Got my 3rd prime installed, but couldn't find another rigid mount. Oh well.. Also added a sicce xstream 1720 for extra flow, I now feel confident in growing acros in this tank Quote Link to comment
Jaren45
Weekly update, got rid of the giant toadstool and added more rock. Corals this week include some starburst monti cap, and another mariculture acro frag 1 Quote Link to comment
TatorTaco
Is that the Caribsea Life Shapes rock in the middle? I just ordered....a lot and I'm super excited to see them in person. Looks like it gives you some great spots for coral placement! Quote Link to comment

Looks like ‘Real Reef’ branch rock, I’d def pick that if I’d ever go bigger Quote Link to comment
TatorTaco
Well.....crap. I just ordered $400 of Caribsea rock from BRS for an upgrade that's scheduled to be delivered tomorrow and the Real Reef stuff wasn't even on my radar. Oh well. My scapes are usually pretty awful anyway. 😄 Quote Link to comment

There is some shapes in there but they're rock colored and not purple anymore. The branch is real reef, super overpriced but no one else makes it as nice imo 1 Quote Link to comment
Jaren45
Added more rock to complete my scape (until I need more room of course) Also finally found some rainbow monti after looking for so long!! 2 Quote Link to comment
Jaren45
Bryopsis has been beat thanks to the flucanazole I dosed a couple weeks back when I noticed it cropping up. Did a water change and threw in some carbon, and today the tank was looking super clean. Also added iron oxide zoas 1 Quote Link to comment
Jaren45
Not much to update on this week. Zoas and softies continue to grow as expected, but a couple of my random mariculture acro frags stripped slowly over the week. I think this was majorly due to me adding the 3rd prime without acclimating them first. At least the acros I care about (Red planet, Cali tort, Garf) are all continuing to hold color and polyp extension. Looking for some red or yellow acropora next, anyone know some good hardy pieces I should try? Quote Link to comment
Jaren45
This is the best picture I've ever gotten of my pygmy hawkfish.. cool little character but I see him maybe once a week Quote Link to comment
Jaren45
Hey all, just got back from a 3 day vacation and the tank was looking just alright. Here are some top down shots to really get an idea of how things are going, not too happy with all the death but I guess it could be worse. Thanks for looking let me know what you think 1 Quote Link to comment
