I have a monster one in the mushroom rock. Too large to fit through the tiny holes in the Planaria trap I got. I only tried the trap once but it only caught pods. LOL

I forgot to update - Derp the hermit died during a molt yesterday. 😞

 

I did add 0.5ml Iodine to the water (weekly dosing), but he had a bad molt. 

 

In the meantime, both my cleaner & fire shrimp molted as well, and molted successfully.

Spotted a tiny aiptasia in the fuge today morning when I went to turn the fuge light off: 

 

 

Will probably have to inject it with boiling vinegar later. 

 

The red discosoma shroom that came together with the blue hairy shrooms looks really pretty when it's fully open: 🤗

 

 

And the new baby shrooms have developed even further - the little yuma actually has more color around the edges now:

Be careful with that vinegar! It tends to spoil pH if not used with caution. Good luck with dealing with those pests.

Also, my secondary LFS just announced the arrival of some new ruby dragonets today. Will drop by the store later - hopefully there is a female in the batch which I can pick up to pair with Orion. 🥰

Change of plans - going to the LFS tomorrow, not today - because they're only opening the store after 3pm today. That area is easy to get to, but the junction leading out of it is very difficult, and I'll be caught in rush over traffic after 4pm+ (yes, I take up to an hour to shop sometimes - I usually take my time observing an animal before purchasing it). 

 

So hopefully I'll be able to get there tomorrow morning.

Forgot to update yesterday - I visited my secondary LFS to pick up a female ruby to be paired up with my male, but 2 were already sold when I arrived, and 2 more had died within a day of arriving at the store. 😕

 

Considering how sensitive rubys are during shipment, and how most of them arrive in terrible condition, I'm not entirely surprised - but still disappointed regardless. 

 

However, my grandmother gave me an early cash gift for my birthday next month, so she pretty much sponsored these guys: 😄

 

 

 

 

 

That's a Christmas wrasse, 3 turban snails & a small container of fish food. 🤗

 

Regarding the wrasse, I've been secretly eyeing on the Christmas wrasse from the store since last year. But they usually get sold out pretty quickly and rarely come in. 

 

The snails got to work the moment I added them into the tank:

 

 

 

But the wrasse went straight into the sandbed. Hopefully, it'll become comfortable enough to pop out again. 👍

Bullet the Christmas wrasse (Halichoeres claudia) was up early today morning: 😄

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

His juvenile markings are incredibly beautiful. Easily one of the most eye-captivating wrasses I've owned to date. 😊

He's taking a lot of heat from Freckles the tang though. Actually, Freckles has become meaner over the past week - he sometimes has a habit of divebombing my other fish, including my dragonets. 😕

 

He does a great job at eating algae off the rocks, but it looks like I'll have to rehome him Jan/Feb next year. 🤔

It's hard to film him because he's constantly in motion, but I was lucky that he stopped for a few seconds to take refuge under my rockwork.
