Yeah, the lockdown sucks but there is nothing that I can do about it. 😓

There's still a lock down?

Weird.

There are hardly any new cases right now

Where at?

Our hospitals are overflowing here... literally... we are boarding people in the ED and the 'disaster' part of epic (are charting system) has been activated.

Malaysia. We're in the middle of a third wave and we're being hit really hard. We were doing well in the beginning, but the recent wave has seen an enormous spike in cases/clusters all across the country. It's not a total lockdown though - just a partial one (CMCO) where they are trying to restrict the movement of citizens from one district to the other, and temporary closure of all non-essential business, entertaintment centers & places of worship (mosques, churches & temples). Weddings/birthday parties have also been canceled over the next month.

It sounds harsh, but we're trying not to overwhelm the hospitals - right now we have around 5000+ active Covid cases and are still seeing deaths daily. 😕

My older male Saron shrimp was spotted out in the open last night - he's incredibly large now, but quite elusive and mostly nocturnal:

Sacramento,  California

We have had more RNs testing positive than patients for the last two months

it is terrible here in Milwaukee for the staff and pt's... our floors and ICU are overflowing. I normally take 4-5 pt's and now can take up to 8. ICU nurses usually have 1-2 pts and they can take up to 4. The most I have had so far is 7 and I know they were up to 3 each in ICU. Just depends how bad staffing gets vs pts.

I came across this map today and the blue is where I am about... it feels bad. We are now getting mandated for 16 hour shifts.

We have no beds and people are being boarded in the ED.

The only good thing right now is they activated the 'Disaster' tab in epic... so I don't hardly have to chart anything or ask admission questions. I am thankful for this as it makes having more pt's more manageable.

Sorry to derail your thread Snow 😛

No worries about the derailing part - I find all of this informative, actually. 👍

Your country is doing the right thing, it will save money and lives in the long run; shame for the time being that things are a bit more difficult.

Yeah, it's definitely difficult, but it's necessary. We're trying to lower the death rate as much as possible. So far most of Covid deaths are from senior citizens - individuals above 60++ & people with medical conditions (eg. kidney problems, diabetes, hypertension, stroke etc.). But we did have kids die as well, and there were some people who had no pre-existing conditions and still died too, even though they were in their 30s. It's hell everywhere across the globe. 😞

Singapore has only 3-8 cases a day, but once a week we have an unlinked asymptomatic case 😬. i think there will be a second wave here because we are opening a lot of travel lanes for people across the globe.

This limpet arrived as a hitchiker in my tank last year and has grown a fair bit:

It's very good at munching on film algae on my rocks. Wish I had more of them. 👍

You want me to bring some across the border once a travel lanes is established 😁

Nah, it's okay. Although I have been dying to get my hands on a neon goby for a while now. Are they still readily available in Sg? 🤗

Some updates coming through! I dropped by my LFS to pick up the ordered candycane pistol shrimp but it DOAed in the bag otw home. So I switched cars, took the shrimp back to the store and received a full refund.

I was feeling a bit bad though, so I decided to hunt around for a hardy shroom to put into the tank. Ended up getting a pair of blue hairy shrooms:

Which also had a freebie red discosoma attached to the same LR:

And since the original rock the shrooms were on was *huge, I requested for the rock to be cut at the LFS, and brought that piece home to be added to the fuge. Mainly because it had some cool hitchikers on it, including this awesome stomatella snail:

The prices for the shroom was pretty reasonable too. There was a green yuma colony that I was eyeing on as well, but it was over my budget this time so I skipped out on it.

Slowly looking out for more shrooms to repopulate the mountain. The current shrooms that I have are doing well so far:

Replenished my fuge with a fresh stock of macro rich in microfauna:

Some of the macro actually overlaps into the floss section of the sump, but I think it's pretty and beneficial, so I'm keeping it that way.

Spotted Spyder hidden within the macro:

He's covered in sponges & algae, but I think he likes it, so I only admire him from afar (no direct handling if possible).

Sweet hammer! Have you had any problems with your coral goby so far? I have heard that they tend to munch on corals....

Sorry - are you referring to my GCG (green clown goby)? Goblin has been with me for over 2 years and has been a model citizen so far. No coral munching or nipping in the years that I have had him.

Yes yes, I mean your GCG. Glad to hear he is obedient...

So far I have kept 4 varieties of clown gobies - green, yellow, black & citron. GCGs have been the safest among all 4 types. My citron didn't bother anything either. I have had yellows that never touched a thing, then that one odd YCG that nipped a pocci frag continuously until the coral died. With BCGs, they mostly irritated *some corals, but not due to nipping - mostly rather due to perching on those corals until the polyps closed up. Hope this helps. 👍
