Snow_Phoenix
Poseidon has a rip in his tail - although I'm unsure how (?) 🤔 : He should recover though. He's still eating and swimming well, so I'm not too worried. Spotted Casper, my tangaroa goby, out: 🤗 And this bold bristleworm trying to sneakily grab a pellet: Quote Link to comment

I wanted to repopulate Mushroom Mountain with various types of mushrooms. And I'm thinking of purchasing more LPS colonies (not super large ones, but medium-sized ones). Was looking into several corals: torch, elegance, frogspawn, fox etc. I want to get something to occupy the center of the sandbed though. Maybe another bubble coral (?). My primary LFS nowadays focuses on frags. Colonies are very limited. My secondary LFS has a lot of colonies, but they're quite unhealthy (dying around the edges). I'm not sure what else I can do except be patient and wait for the slim chance that my primary LFS stocks an interesting LPS colony or two. They did have some really bright GSP for sale though. Secondary LFS had a very nice green toadstool that caught my eye, but it was quite...overpriced, if you ask me. So I refrained for now. I'm so worried I'll get hit by BJD again. I lost almost everything because it - twice, and the losses were very, very painful & expensive. 😞 Colonies aren't cheap, and good ones are very hard to come by. I miss my frogspawn, bubble and elegance the most. 😢 I like wavy corals - corals that sway in the flow. Not too fond of stationary ones with just short polyps. 1 1 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
This scene of complete chaos - honestly, this is how most of the pics I take actually look like: 😅 No one stays still long enoughfor me to take a good pic. So I try to take as many pics as I can, and pick the least blurry ones. Heh. 😅 Also, check out Sushi giving Pisces some lip through the plastic wall of the container: 🙃 https://www.instagram.com/p/CInKIjYD-CK/?igshid=3mi9krgwuw03 (Pisces is the fish in the container - I'm rehoming him next week) 2 Quote Link to comment

I think the two dragonets I struggled with the most this year was Illaron (male scooter) & Orion (male ruby). I believed I lost 4 to 5 rubys this year because they perished prematurely in the tank due to lack of appetite/stress from shipment. With the exception of Icarus, Orion's predecessor which jumped out of my tank 😢, Orion was the only ruby I had that could adjust to captive diet fully. We still have issues - he's still not chunky like my mandy or scooters, but at least he's eating, swimming normally and his belly is full. Starvation seems to be quite the problem with these little red guys. That, and the poor shipping survival rate. 😞 Most of the rubys at the store look half-dead or are very thin. Some are beyond wasted. I'm not sure whether it's due to the method of collection (cyanide?), or simply because their super small size means they have less reserves (compared to let's say a Blue Mandy) so they waste away quicker during the time it takes to collect, ship & transfer them to the store. I'm still trying to get a healthy female for Orion - still no luck so far. 😕 Quote Link to comment
