TigerLily
I just got the email! I'll be watching this afternoon... Link to comment
metrokat
Got a call from the LFS, they have a huge 2 day annual sale this weekend and wanted to make sure I come early. They have an Oshimai in stock but the kid is awfully big, about the size of a quarter. I'm still getting him for my RSM, who knows, maybe I'll put him in this pico for crabs and giggles. metrokat
FTS Top down The Xenia looks nice from the top but I really don't like it otherwise. Link to comment
metrokat
This tank will get some livestock this weekend. I was thinking of inverts. Sexy shrimp is an obvious choice and I love the little bastards. Except that the tree is brown and the sexies are also a neutral color. Og well, maybe they will look like little birdies. TigerLily
I really like the red macro. It looks the most leafy to me. Would it shade the tank more than the xenia does? Link to comment
metrokat
I really like the red macro. It looks the most leafy to me. Would it shade the tank more than the xenia does? I'm afraid so. It makes it a very dark tree. I like it a lot also. Link to comment
Veng
The GSP on the bottom looks great! I'm not sure I'm a fan of the xenia. I'd rather see more zoas that look like blooming flowers I think. Link to comment

Veng
I think if you did more, smaller bunches, it would look good if you left the rest of the tree bare. Link to comment
Mariaface
Wouldn't bright-colored zoas look cool once they're covering branches of the tree? Oh god, you could find a little epoxy picnic bench and place it in the shade; it'd be adorable. Link to comment
metrokat
Wouldn't bright-colored zoas look cool once they're covering branches of the tree? Yes! The deal is that this tank is in a contest and I would like for it to be a lush looking tree before the contest end date which is october. Zoas will take time to cover the branches (and is a great long term plan). Link to comment
jbb
Just buy a bunch of frags and it can be insta-lush. Link to comment
Lynaea
What about daisy polyps, would they grow fast enough? http://www.reef2reef.com/forums/aqua-sd/170123-very-nice-pieces-wysiwyg-frags-more-%7E-3.html#post1979635 Post 51, item 265 Link to comment

I'll ask aquaSD how fast they grow. Link to comment

jbb
Emma has daisy polyps, they grow pretty well in dirty water Link to comment
metrokat
oh! what color are they when it's not all blue in that tank? Link to comment
Lynaea
http://www.pacificeastaquaculture.com/Daisy-Polyps-Prodview.html This is closest to what they look like in my tank, got them from AquaSD a few weeks ago. Kind of a purplish pink with green centers. They certainly seem happy in my 'dirty' tank. Link to comment
metrokat
My patience has paid off! I finally got a hold of a rock of blue cloves from my LFS yesterday. I can't believe it. Now to figure out how to frag these things. Goldilocks Can you spot the Sexy? Link to comment
Veng
Careful about GSP die off under that rock if you leave it there too long. Well, that or it'll just eat the rock. Either way, it'll be interesting for sure Link to comment
metrokat
I have to frag it. Just as soon as I can figure out how, ill do it and glue the bits to the tree Link to comment
