Felicia
I love the look of the razor, both physically and the colour the 16k puts out. One of my LFS has a pair over their frag tanks, love them. I love the look of it too! I think Maxspect definitely has the nicest looking fixture, design-wise. I'm excited to see how the color I get out of it compares to my current fixture. Cool! Good luck with the new light. I'm looking forward to hearing your opinions on it. Thanks! I will definitely keep you all posted. I have the little Maxspect Razor Nano 10k on my seahorse tank and I love it. I'm interested to see how the larger fixture looks though and in the 16k color temperature. I've been keeping my light more blue on the main tank to make the anemones and LPS pop. Alright, I have some coral updates. Unfortunately, my huge frogspawn colony has just not been doing well since the crash. It just kept slowly losing one head at a time and now I'm down to like 3 heads that don't look good. I guess it was just touchy and never recovered. That left the right side of the euphyllia pillar empty, so I went LFS hopping today to see if I found anything I liked for a decent price. I ended up picking up 3 new goodies at Aquatic Collection. 1) A pink tube anemone with a black mouth http://s289.photobucket.com/user/alatarie/media/TubeAnemone2.jpg.html'> http://s289.photobucket.com/user/alatarie/media/TubeAnemone1.jpg.html'> 2) Neon green octospawn frag http://s289.photobucket.com/user/alatarie/media/Octospawn1.jpg.html'> http://s289.photobucket.com/user/alatarie/media/Octospawn2.jpg.html'> 3) And the Piece de Resistance...a big peachy/gold/pastel orange wall hammer! Unfortunately I can't get its color to photography well and my lights are making it look biocolored, which it isn't. The areas in the photo that are a peachy orange are close to the true color and the whole thing is that solid color. http://s289.photobucket.com/user/alatarie/media/WallHammer1.jpg.html'> http://s289.photobucket.com/user/alatarie/media/WallHammer2.jpg.html'> And a fun shot of my yellow watchman goby http://s289.photobucket.com/user/alatarie/media/IMG_7776.jpg.html'> Link to comment
Felicia
And a few more random photos from tonight... A little better photo of the color of the wall hammer. Its brighter in person, but this gives you guys the idea. Mr. Microscope
Those last two posts were really amazing! Your photos and livestock are really inspiring. Love that super speckly BTA! So, how often and what are you feeding your nems? I usually just feed mine a couple times a weeks with whatever I'm feeding the fish (PE Mysis, or pellets). Link to comment
opaquelace
I love that neon green octo! The octo frogspawn is my absolute favorite of any of the frogspawn/torch/hammer corals. Link to comment
Felicia
Those last two posts were really amazing! Your photos and livestock are really inspiring. Love that super speckly BTA! So, how often and what are you feeding your nems? I usually just feed mine a couple times a weeks with whatever I'm feeding the fish (PE Mysis, or pellets). Thank you, Eric! I've just been taking photos with my iPhone 5 recently. It does a pretty decent job and is so much fast to get things posted than dealing with my actual camera. I'm really happy with the mix of corals right now, so thank you! All the anemones from Zia are really speckly and I love that! They've really colored up a ton for me recently. I actually haven't been spot feeding the BTAs. I spot feed my rock flower anemones and tube anemones mysis when I'm feeding the fish, but I don't really want the BTAs to grow or split too quickly since I have a small tank and not a ton of space for them. I do however feed Marine Snow every day and then every couple days I dump in a mix of Marine Snow, Phytoplex, and Coral Frenzy for all the corals to feed on, so I'm sure the BTAs eat plenty of that They also snatch some mysis since I broadcast feed mysis to the fish twice a day. I love that neon green octo! The octo frogspawn is my absolute favorite of any of the frogspawn/torch/hammer corals. I love it too! Octos are so cool. They can be very touchy though, so hopefully this one does well for me. They actually had frags of orange octospawn that I was so tempted to buy but they were $80 and weren't open all the way so I wasn't sure on their health. If they look good next time I'm in, I may just have to cave and get one of those too Link to comment

Felicia
Sometimes Ophelia hams for the camera, but a lot of the time she just likes to be aloof: Cutie! Looks like the quintessential cat photo. "I will not look at you because you want me to look at you!" Lily gets jealous if I'm focused on the tanks, and since I take lots of photos of the tanks, Lily has decided that photos mean attention. She would like that to be directed at her instead of the tanks, so she's quite the little model. Its super easy to get her to pose for a photo luckily Link to comment

markalot
That undata is amazing looking. I'm glad your wall hammer is doing well, I've heard they can be tough. My wall frogspawn is still with me, stuck in the back right corner where it can get light and not kill anything. I'm happy to hear you ordered the razor from Premium Aquatics. They are in Indy and always next day shipping for me so I order pretty much everything from them unless they don't carry it. Can't wait to hear about the light once it arrives. Link to comment

I'm always so impatient once I order exciting new reef toys I have the 10k Razor Nano over my seahorse tank and I love it so I'm sure I'll like this new one. I'll get photos up as soon as I get it over the tank! It's actually an undata, but that's the one! I only have that one SPS in there now. I've had that piece forever and it was a mess after the crash so I'm happy it's finally looking good. I figured you'd appreciate my one SPS photo haha! Link to comment

Yeah I'd heard that about the wall euphyllias as well so I'm a bit nervous about this hammer. Well see how it does. For the price I just couldn't not give it a shot. I'd heard a big issue with them was damage during shipping. It had been at the local store for 2 weeks and looked healthy there so hopefully it will do well. I could order from Marine Depot and get things way faster since they're in CA, but then I have to pay sales tax, which for this light would have been almost $50. So I try to order stuff from Premium Aquatics, BRS, or Drs Foster and Smith to avoid the sales tax Just means shipping takes longer unfortunately. Link to comment
