Bubba's DIY 21.8 Gallon Coast 2 Coast - Coral En Route!

I brought my stand back to my welder to add some more supports as it bowed about 1/8" across the 54". Need piece of mind in case a kid is running around the tank. Going to add a lot more cross bars to get all the weight onto the legs.

My acrylic baffles shipped and I'll have them Thursday.

I am thinking I may start cycling my rock in a bucket to get things rolling. If I do this would I need a heater running?

Maybe a powerhead to keep the water moving too.

I know it's crazy. I've had so much going on I didn't get to think about it much. The time is right now and I'm just trying to stay patient and set it up right the first time.

Laser cut parts arrived. I've got to square the edges that will be glued and silicone it in. Forgot to order the white silicone; I've read DOW 999a is good for acrylic/glass bonds so I ordered that.

My welder should have the stand finished up this weekend so should be in business soon.

10G sump derimmed top/bottom masked off getting painted white bottom/back. I'm going to replace the bottom rim once it is painted white as well. I'm going to start gluing up the baffle insert today as well.

Still not sure if I'll be drilling the sump to run the Vertex M1 externally...

Just waiting on the silicone to get it glued into the tank. I did leave one piece off so I can tool the silicone beads inside the sock section. Also made sure my equipment fits... it did.

My fish wish list at this point. It's been all about the tank/equipment and I can't wait to get into livestock.

Hoping to get a lot of work done in the fish room(closet) on my next days off so I am closer to plumbing the tank in. Just need to keep this momentum up and she will be wet in no time.

Got the acrylic insert siliconed in. Used Dow Corning 795 and it was quite a mess. When I built my tank I used Momentum RTV 100 series which was fine to work with however not the best for acrylic to glass. This 795 was so thick and sticky I could barely squeeze it out of a 1/8" hole. I'm happy to be done working with silicone on this build.

I've been working on the sump room too. Got Sheetrock hung today and the electrical sorted. Ready to start building a stand in and plumbing this thing up to cycle. Can't wait.

pumped as hell for this.

Thanks for following along. I know it hasn't been the most exciting thread. Not many nano tanks have a coast 2 coast overflow and a sump room though. :)

Also, the longer it takes the bigger my livestock budget gets.

Got it wired up; I changed where the wire exits the Radion so you can't see it from the front(typically exits though the side.) Still need to caulk and touch up the wall a bit and touch up some scratches on the brackets from sliding through the wall. I am going to put the mp10 through the wall today and start figuring out the wiring in the back. My plan is to build an upper wall cabinet to house all electrical connections, controllers, etc. and run them through the wall under the sump stand. I don't want to see any wires. I hate wires.

Inspiration for the wiring cabinet.

Here is a look at that canvas print I drew for the sump room; cephs gotta be one of the coolest animals out there.
