gulfsurfer101
I'm telling you man. The tank was exactly what I was looking for and the price wasn't too bad at all. Besides I'm working lots of hours so i dint have time to attempt to even try setting the other up. I still have all my livestock and about 20 pounds rock on hold till this tank settles out. I'm using fully cured rock and cleaned sand from my old tank along with new sand so there shouldn't be much of a cycle if any. Things are already starting to clear up. Here's the obligatory cloudy tank shot and a few hours later. http://s1309.photobucket.com/user/gulfsurfer101/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20140315_143839_zpsvzlc0rns.jpg.html'> http://s1309.photobucket.com/user/gulfsurfer101/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20140315_143810_zps9s0jo1jz.jpg.html'> Link to comment
gulfsurfer101
This tank is surprisingly quiet. Much quieter than the 20L I was running in its place. My ph, nitrate, po all look good but I need more test kits. I was worried about adding my old sand but I guess the large bag of carbon and cpe in my sump is doing it's job. Next week I'll be looking into some more equipment and another reefbreeders value fixture. I was looking at the hydor smart sensor ato and I think I'm going to run with that thing over the dreaded traditional float switch method that had cost many a reefer much grief many times before. gulfsurfer101
Still a little cloudy from messing with the scape a bit before finally giving up for now. The reefbreeders fixture on the right is really hard to get a decent pic of next to my diy duel 6" makers led set up I'll be moving to the sump once I get my second reefbreeders fixture next week. I'll post a video showing my entire set up one I'm able to upload it to YouTube. My clownfish have so much more space and only venture a few inches beyond the rock covered in bubble tips. I need some free swimmers and suggestions are always welcome. Link to comment

Im just not to comfortable painting a 500 dollar tank with a 5 dollar can of paint and it coming out horrible. I want to leave the option to change I out the background in the future to as I plan to remodel the living room so we're not stuck in the 70's. Just don't have the time right now to do much of anything. Link to comment
gulfsurfer101
I'm trying to get the pics right. The reefbreeders fixture is fuxin me all up. It's twice as bright as my diy using Cree 3ups. The color looks good in person, just not with my crappy cell pics. Link to comment
gulfsurfer101
Just found out how to link my phone with my tv, and checking out threads on the big screen. May be old news to some, but I'm pretty stoked about it. Also going to work on getting a video posted tomorrow after my lights come on. Link to comment

gulfsurfer101
So I tire of manual top off's and I decided that I will try this atohttp://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+28176+27484&pcatid=27484 out since I'm not a fan of flooding float switches and after coming home to a soaked carpet and lots and lots of dead sps and some dying lps before, I would never trust one again. This looks like it's pretty fail proof and I like that. I plan on putting lots and lots of money into this system and have finally found a tank I think I'll stick with for years to come so consistency will be a major target I'll be shooting for. I've always had a cowboy approach towards reefkeeping and where that had worked in the past, I feel it's time to shake those concepts and get serious. Link to comment

gulfsurfer101
So I picked up some meat today. gulfsurfer101
So I decided that I need a break from clowns and decided to add a yellow watchmen. So far he's picked a really good cave on the right side to call home. Now i just need to find a pistol shrimp for him. http://s1309.photobucket.com/user/gulfsurfer101/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20140322_222116_zpsbbmvzqpz.jpg.html'> Link to comment
gulfsurfer101
Lol, yeah he loves the fish tank. I went ahead and bought the hydor smart sensor but I didn't find the clear mounting piece that was supposed to be included. I'm having another one sent to me and sending them this one back. I was really hoping to have that in place already since I'm losing about a gallon a day while I'm at work. Link to comment
gulfsurfer101
Well I'm completely satisfied with my 75g but my roots in nano tanks just keeps giving me an inkling. Besides I have to much stuff on hand to not set one up. My gf wants to be able to keep the girly corals and stuff I don't want to add to my tank so I set up her own tank so I don't have to argue about why I don't want that pink carnations coral in my tank next time we hit the lfs. I even found this cheap 6500k led lamp that gives pretty decent coverage in pink just for her. I threw in some easy starter frags and gsp in there to test out this lamp. Honestly it looks much more like an old school mh10k white only with the shimmer of a kessil. I'm not even trying to compare this light to a kessil but if this thing will grow zoas and softies at ten bucks, I'll be happy. http://s1309.photobucket.com/user/gulfsurfer101/media/20140412_092027_zps9egbzhjh.jpg.html'> http://s1309.photobucket.com/user/gulfsurfer101/media/20140412_091921_zpscuakv8z1.jpg.html'> http://s1309.photobucket.com/user/gulfsurfer101/media/20140412_091823_zpscez8o3oj.jpg.html'> http://s1309.photobucket.com/user/gulfsurfer101/media/20140412_092117_zps7enuvbsw.jpg.html'> Link to comment
gulfsurfer101
And after a few short hours riding slow small clean swell here, this is what this tank looks like after grabbing some various macro while was out. http://s1309.photobucket.com/user/gulfsurfer101/media/20140412_105208_zpsixv5dt3h.jpg.html'> http://s1309.photobucket.com/user/gulfsurfer101/media/IMG_20140412_140431_zpsztr2nksn.jpg.html'> And the zoas are responding well to the cheap leds. Honestly if this light can just sustain zoanthids, I'll be blown away. http://s1309.photobucket.com/user/gulfsurfer101/media/IMG_20140412_14084_edit_1397329766940_zpsrvf9dvdk.jpg.html'> Link to comment
