gulfsurfer101
is this the permanent location of the tank???That is where I wanted to place it but my po(wife) says no! I needed a place to work a 360 degree circumference incase anything should spring a leak during testing which required about 6 hours of intensive watching while drinking craft beers!Nice!!!! May the force be with youAnd also with you young Bro-B-Won konobe!Sup bros? Looks swank in here. Anyone got a mirror Hell yeah! Put up the stripper pole and call the escorts! I'm gonna need witness to all this sexy!Nah but furreallios though! I got that ato in and pumping! I got the dry rocks cooking! I got calerfa all up in the sumpizzle! I'm trying my hardest to not just say phuket and toss everything from my 20l in there. That's dedication! And the tank is so quiet I bet you can hear a fishfart from across the room! Link to comment
gulfsurfer101
What a wicked awesome day! I just found a 12 long rimless on the side of the road! I'm gonna leak test that ho as soon as I get back home! Link to comment
gulfsurfer101
Got about 60 pounds of livesand in the 75g. We are definitely cycling now! I'll fill the rest in with dry sand eventually to even everything out. This stuff is really fine oolite sand. Not sure if I love it or hate it yet! Link to comment
gulfsurfer101
Also playing around with that 12l I found earlier. Had a spare false wall I built for a 5.5 and it is just a half inch too tall. Think I'll trim it down a bit and run with it! Link to comment

gulfsurfer101
AWESOMEEEEEE Inorite! I think I've over done the reef thing way too many times though! Think I'll do a black substrate planted fw tank!Too many tanks! How many you running?Right now only my 20l full of coral and my 75g that is currently cycling. Everything from my 20l will eventually go in there. The 12l would make a great fw tank though! Link to comment
gulfsurfer101
The 75g clearing up pretty quickly! I'll be removing the ugly hunk of rocks on the left and I'll be using emarco to scape some stuff on the right. I plan to cherry pick through that stuff then mix it with my live stuff from my 20l. Just getting it live at this point. The big ugly hunk on the left spent the last two months cooking so it's in there to seed the other stuff. After a few weeks it's gone! Link to comment
gulfsurfer101
With the leds only! Link to comment
gulfsurfer101
Came home to diatomes today! Damn you natural sunlight! One more thing to get over I guess! Link to comment

vlangel
Why can't this happen to me?also whats a FW tank? A FW tank is freshwater. gulfsurfer, I am just catching up with your thread and you are making good progress on that 75 gallon. So what are the plans for it (coral wise)when the cycle is done other than switching out the rock? Thats a cute little 12g with the false wall. Will it be a FW planted tank or what are your plans for it? Link to comment

I know what FW stands for that's why I put a wink face. Lol! I found a tiny chip in that tank and that's why I'm guessing it was getting tossed out. Think I'll place that false wall on that side and drill it. Might be able to tie it in to my 75g and use it as a frag tank instead. The lower water level in that false wall compartment should keep that chip from getting worse. Link to comment

gulfsurfer101
Funny thing is it's been holding water. The chip is mainly cosmetic. I really rally want to do a low maintenance planted tank! I could always use my 20l as a frag tank! Link to comment
gulfsurfer101
So diatomes like muff ukka though! Need to block out as much natural sunlight as possible! Link to comment
Matteo
hmmmmm I say 20 gallon as ugly frag tank. and nice sweet rimless 12g for a dope planted tank with some neon tetras and corys or a designer better Link to comment
gulfsurfer101
I'm thinking about giving up completely on a fw planted. Once I get everything switched over to my 75g I'll have enough equipment to run the 12l as an sps tank. Should cycle by then too if I use some mature rock out my 20l. I'm not liking the idea of taking on another hobby that will have me buying all kinds of ish I don't already have when I already have tons of ish set up for sw! I was just thinking wrong lol! Matteo
good call! what about a macro algae tank? or a flower anemone tank with some sexy shrimp?! Link to comment
gulfsurfer101
I was just thinking a macro tank tied into my 75g somehow today on my drive home. Idk though! As of right bite every rock in my 75g is covered I either diatomes or cyano. I even cyano covering my caulerpa and cheato in my sump. My tank broke out in red tide overnight! This weekend I'll work on tinting them windows to keep that sunlight from hitting it. Link to comment
