The tank has hit the 6 month mark. Everything is growing and colorful but I have been getting annoying stn problems on some corals. I noticed this when my alk would drop below 8dkh. Bumping up and maintaing 9dkh has slowed or stopped most stn however, some has continued very slowly. This has been difficult for me to maintain lately because the tank is constantly sucking up more cal and alk (adding 160ml of each daily) and I haven't been around much lately to check on things.

I recently stopped using GFO and all STN has stopped at the moment. Not really sure why the STN started in the first place. Weird thing is it was only on supposedly hardier tank raised corals. Very hard to keep hoeksemis and abrotanoides are flourishing. There's always something new to learn with SPS.

Anyway here's an Iphone shot from the other night.

I am concentrating on adding more LPS and zoos at the moment. :)

bugging you again for an update! :)

Hey Guys. Sorry that I haven't updated. I have been working way more than I should lately. The 60 cube is being dismantled next week :(

because I am upgrading to a custom built starfire 116g cube :). I am tired of having a small tank and trying to do big things in it lol. Most corals have been broke off their bases and remounted so they are ready for transfer.

Here's the equipment list

- 116 gallon starfire cube 32x32x26 being build by Reefomaina

- Custom built stand made from reclaimed maple (vintage look)

- Sfiligoi 400w Radium + 4x24w t5's

- Skimz SM203 DC controllable skimmer

- Custom acrylic sump with live rock rubble compartment (no refugium)

- Phosban reactors

-Eheim 1262 return

- 2x mp40's + 1 Tunze or wp 40

- 30lbs of tonga branch and 40lbs of premium fiji (curing for last 2 months)

- Apex controller

I'll post pics and start a new thread when I get things going in a couple of weeks.

Thanks buddy. I'm just getting everything together right now. I picked up the stand yesterday. I'm very happy the way it came out. This was made by a local wood worker that specializes in making aquarium stands. This stand is unique because it's actually made in 2 parts. My door clearance is 29" but I didn't want the stand to be very low. The solution was to make a 9" booster (drawer section) that the stand can bolt onto, making the overall height 37". I kept my fingers crossed but it worked out well!

Time to close this thread out :) The tank transfer is complete and went very well. The SPS don't appear very stressed although colors are faded (from several dips to ensure no flatworms). I still have a lot to do equipment wise on the new tank, but it's flowing :)

Here are some quick cell pics as I was setting up. I will start a new thread with high res pics and more detail soon.

Do you have a new tank thread? I have enjoyed following your tanks over the years. GL with the new tank!

Not yet. I will start one soon when I get more time. I have pics and I'll add some detail. I'm glad you enjoyed my previous tank threads, i'll try not to disappoint with this one :)

Can you post a closer picture of that bleeding apple? ;)

I still didn't get around to starting a new tank thread but I snapped a quick cell phone pic this morning. Everything is doing well. Corals are growing and coloring more each day.
