albertthiel
Yes, 33 Long. It was really an amazing tank. I'll def post the link here if I can find it. That's what I thought ... 28 fish in a 29 Liter tank would have been a bit hard to do :-) Don't think that 1 fish per liter would work out too well :-) And yes if you do find that link that would be super. Thanks Albert Quote Link to comment

Yes they do actually and as long as you can provide them with Aiptasia you can keep them in your tank but even though they are pests, they are not always that easy to come by ... However one can set up a tank to culture them and since they multiply by splitting at the base one can get quite a few in not too long a time. Touch wood ... have not had Aiptasias yet, well that's not true, I had one on a piece of rock that came from a member and I "glued" it in immediately and have not seen any since, but then I have seen a bunch of other HH's like the Stomatella and now the Pineapple sponge or sponges ... Guess it seems like we always find "something" new in our tanks ... Wonder what will be next, may be one of these .. Well not really :-) Hairy frog fish would be quite noticeable ... and not much would still be alive in the tank ... Albert Quote Link to comment

ny300z
Albert, i added some flakes to my new tank to kick off the cycle like u suggested. Also removed the poly-fil. Should i be keeping the lights off the whole time or run them as normal. I have left them off completely to this point. Its been about 5 days Quote Link to comment

Its been about 5 days It really does not make much difference as the bacteria will develop anyway. Are you measuring any ammonia and/or nitrite, and what is your nitrate level right now. Your tank may be ready for life forms but checking those parameters will tell you. If you do not have CUC's in there that is what I would start with, and maybe 1 Coral or 1 Fish. Let me know what you find after testing .... Albert Edited October 5, 2012 by albertthiel Quote Link to comment

Albert yesterday i measured a very slight trace of ammonia. I did not check nitrite or nitrate yet. I will do checks tonight and let you know thanks. Well if you have a slight amount of ammonia then I suspect that it is going to increase before it goes down to zero ... Yes do some testing and let me know this evening ... Thanks BTW the diatoms come later ... and will go away but you can siphon them out easily if you wish Albert Edited October 5, 2012 by albertthiel Quote Link to comment

Of course it would have to be a rather large one :-) But some hobbyists do keep them ! At least from what I have seen on this and other forums. Gorgeous looking fish for sure. Grows up to about 10 inches is what I find. http://www.frogfish.ch/species-arten/Anten...s-striatus.html Video : Albert Edited October 5, 2012 by albertthiel Quote Link to comment

Very very nice indeed, but sorry to read that you are currently tankless ... thinking about starting one soon again? I am sure you are missing having one, or two ... or maybe three :-) Great links and very nice tanks weetabix7. I liked how they came out and how good everything looks. Now all you have to do is put all your skills to work together to set up your next super tank. Albert Quote Link to comment
albertthiel
A few Tank shots taken around 18:15 today To put things in perspective, the Mushroom to the right is about 1 inch across .... The Duncan now has 4 heads and it looks like another one is ready to pop up soon. The Candy Cane has several heads but two are not visible and one is not getting much light (front middle bottom) and I think it is getting too close to the Duncan so I'll have to move the CC a little to the right.
