iball1804
Lovely. DIY? Link to comment
Squared
yeah. 17Lx9Wx8T 3" sump area, 1/4 glass. so with the AIO false wall and glass thickness, the display area is just over 13" long. a sing PAR30 should be able light it nicely (no need to spend more mone on a second one) any idea how much a DIY like this would cost? iball1804
My 20Lx13Wx8H cost me 30$ is glass alone. The extra acrylic will be around 10$ at HD. 40$ for a custom tank can't be beaten. Link to comment
Squared
ok. the acrylic wall has baffles attached to it. so glazer would make it for me, maybe like $50. i want nice teeth, and i can't do that on a piece of acrlic. glazer can. so maybe like $100 for the tank, it'd have a lid. $130 for the light, $30 for the pump, $25 for the heater...less than $300 for an awsome tank like this want to do... iball1804
Or go to a glass shop. The usually have a CNC machine. That's what Glazer used. But yeah, he could do that. Keep it coming! Link to comment
Squared
oh, a CNC machine? is that for glass or acrylic? Link to comment
iball1804
I'm not sure for glass, because it is so brittle, but certainly for acrylic. Link to comment
Squared
ok...look, i put a hole in it: Link to comment
Squared
tank might need to be taller, to fit heater, or re-design sump area.... Link to comment
iball1804
tank might need to be taller, to fit heater, or re-design sump area.... Yup. It's a good thing you are still in the designing stage and you didn't have to find that out the hard way! PS - for those that care, I'm uploading 15 files as I speak! Link to comment

Linilou
Another quetion about the light, how high do you have it over the tank ,what configuration did you go with on your leds and what size heatsink is that? Link to comment
iball1804
It coming along nicely iball Ohmygosh. You actually went to my thread! I feel awesome! I love your tank. Another quetion about the light, how high do you have it over the tank ,what configuration did you go with on your leds and what size heatsink is that? I used the original heat sink in the LED kit. The LEDs are staggered like this: RB CW RB CW RB CW RB CW CW RB CW RB CW RB CW RB Works perfectly. It's probably 10 inches above the water line. Are you thinking about LEDs? Link to comment

Yeah, my tank is going to be 24x12x7, so around 9 gallons. Your tank looks fantastic, and im so tired of changing bulbs in my t5 fixture that leds are looking mighty fine. Plus, if I were to replace the bulbs in my fixture now, itd almost be the price of the 14 dimmable leds from aquastyle. Ive heard nothing but good things about them... Link to comment
iball1804
No questions asked. Buy it now! Have fun with your tank, this size is great! Yours is just a little squished down compared to mine Link to comment
Linilou
Yeah, I was thinking of making it a tad deeper, say, 24x14x7 but havent decided yet, It all depends if I can get any of the glass shops around me to get back to me, if not, 24x12x7 is just a 20h with the glass cut down lol.
