I had my rack set up like the one picture and took out the black sponge completely...cut the white sponge a tad smaller and moved the Purigen to the middle rack and tied the carbon so it is hanging from the middle rack and VIOLA! FIXED! No more F@#$%^&! bubbles! I was going crazzzzy! Anyways...thanks for the suggestions... Oh yeah and... Link to comment

Needreefunds Posted June 21, 2009 Author Share Posted June 21, 2009 Another picherless update, know how ya love them. Finally installed an ATO on this tank. This ATO kit This tank needed it more than any of my others as that Tunze 9002 skimmer really needs a consistent level to perform. It all worked out OK, just some minor tweaking perhaps, but all in all it went well. I initially thought I would use an Aqua lifter since I had two on hand, but they would not lift or push the distance required. After testing several other pumps I had, I wound up with an MJ1200. Tank is doing well but I would love to beat back this #$%^ red wire algae that is all over. But we all have our reefin' battles to fight and I can live with some nuisance algae if that's as bad as it gets. ( somehow I doubt it tho ) _____________________________ I could use a couple MJ power heads. A 1200 and either a 600 or 900 would be great also. So if you are looking to unload these, let me know whatcha got and what you are asking. Thanks! --Richie Link to comment

Mark and several others have had luck with mexican turbos, plus I want a tailspot for this tank too so hopefully some added cuc plus those will help me beat it back some. I think she may have been harassing him some after he began to host the neon toady. Saw him very near the brain Wednesday eve looking in rather rough shape. I was happy to find him out and about Thursday and looking much better all that day. Friday morning he was gone. Looked everywhere with no luck. Strangely, the brain was rather retracted, yet "fat and poofy" that day....I wonder, as that is right where he was hanging out looking poorly that night. Anyway as I cannot find the body I watch closely for any signs and have upped my WC's. Some pics- Shows the growth I have been so pleased with and the red wire algae I have been so pi$$ed with. PPE from Mvite - After staying a two polyp frag for what must have been over a year .....this is a shot of the newly sprouted third head. I hope this continues, not because they still command a few bucks, but I would really love to have a small colony develop. I have always thought them rather sexy in large numbers RPE from Dickie52 Pink Panthers from Davidr Lani's Red Skirts from Monkfish lol Acan Hillae from Mvite ORA Pearlberry from.... well Ocean Gallery II Whatcha think ? Other than the red wire algae this tank has been great. Anything I add that is struggling perks up in a couple weeks.
