midna
There is actually almost nothing you have to do to interface to the Buckpuck with the Arduino. It's really easy. What about those of us who know nothing by way of electronics really, but understand programming quite well. Would we still find it simple? If so I may have a birthday present idea. Link to comment
evilc66
Yeah, it's not too bad. The Buckpucks can be connected directly to the output pins, with maybe a pull up/down resistor. Other drivers may need a few more parts, but nothing serious. My driver that I built required no parts. Link to comment
cdelicath
4 LED's 1 white and 3 royal blue 700ma MEGA BRIGHT for this little tank. Total cost just under $100 for all parts. For more on the tank after the dust settles go to the tank blog here. Big thanks to Evil for all the help. Everything turned out great. Now on to the BC14 and going from a 70w sunpod to LED's with a controller. Link to comment

evilc66
Dude that looks sweet!!! How did the color temp come out? With the three royals and one white it should be pretty 20K-ish. Link to comment
Marteen
Wow looks great! I love the pendant wish you had gone with black wire though so it would be all floating light in the sky style. Looks pretty awesome though, good work. Link to comment

I don't have another 20k to compare it to but I ordered one for my sunpod so I will know soon enough. But the color I think is great. I can't believe how bright it is. Wow looks great! I was thinking the same thing after staring at it a bit, I may end up painting it black. Link to comment

wombat
Very nice. I've got the same tank, considering doing the same thing with the lighting. How is the pendant hanging, and where did you find the parts you enclosed everything with? Does it run hot? Do you feel the fan is necessary? Here's mine, still definitely in the construction phase so far... Link to comment
cdelicath
Great idea for your wall No I don't think the fan is necessary but i think it helps move air around the top of the tank so I would still recommend it. I got the plexi, screws, tap and bit at Lowes and the black plexi square top is from a craft store they sell plastic boxes with lids. I took the lid and painted the inside black then I attached the top to the fan with screws Link to comment

jm82792
Very nice! I have such trouble spending money, PC for $40 or LEDS plus a soldering iron.. I hate how cheap and cautious I am. I did do lots of electronics soldering. Quick question what wattage and type of soldering iron do you recommend for this type of job? I might do it,but may cheap out and do it for softies without dimming.(I hate my tightwaddyness) Link to comment

wombat
Great idea for your wall Thanks! It's this: http://www.kydex.com/products.asp?doctype=...s&docid=107 Unfortunately they only sell it in sheets about 4' x 8' as a minimum. I think you could do this with black flexible cutting board too. Link to comment
