So awesome, I love them too watch it doesn't sting and move things if it begins to... Hope you didn't glue everything down too much. But it will kill Acans easy

Sorry updates have been lacking this past week. Was super busy with work and just exhausted by the evenings I was just crashing.

Tank's doing good, the hammer hasn't changed - the torch looks beautiful, the other day one of the heads didn't come out but the next morning it was back to normal. Acan's are all doing so much better glued down on the rock, especially when feeding.

Ricordia's doing good too, they're growing now I can see the difference this week compared to last :)

My Zoa.. it's looking okay but hasn't really changed. A few small new polyps seem to be forming and moving down to the rock, but it's not spreading as much as I'd wish. I may pick up another and put it next and hopefully let them grow together.

Now, the Clowns...

Nothing really different, sadly, but also a good thing I presume. They still eat and swim just like normal. They have actually become a bit more "routine" in terms of their sleeping - every night this past week they've slept down near the bottom of the tank by that green nice 12 headed Acan cluster I've got. Love them!

However - SOME of the Flukes on their BODY have disappeared. BUT - the bigger ones on the fins is still present. They look a bit different though, almost a bit more "hard" and "crusted" almost like a scab to me.. but I have no experience really. Good news is no NEW signs of the flukes, bad news is it is going away quite slowly it seems so far.

Continuing on with my prazipro this week and no filtration. Hopefully running without the chemi & purigen isn't detrimental to the rest of my tank/ corals and such ???? I'll need to run out and pickup a new bag and chemipure - the stuff I took out before and put in a zip-tight container smells like it could kill someone - so I'll be tossing the entire container out haha..

Flukes can take awhile. My fish in QT is on his 2nd treatment, it definitely killed the flukes but then the eggs hatched and I had new flukes to kill. Remember, prazipro does not kill the eggs.

My one Clown seems to be doing a bit better (the bigger one, female I believe).. but the smaller (male perhaps) was acting a big strange last night.

He was beneath the rocks and stayed there for most of the night. When I fed (pellets) he did not come out, and did not eat.

The larger clown was normal and eating lots.

I turned the light off about 30 mins earlier than normal thinking perhaps he needs some rest now. Upon turning off the light he came immediately out from beneath the rocks and was chasing the my larger clown around, but not aggressively - almost payful. Then they were side by side in their little corner for the rest of the night.

Woke up this morning and they were sleeping on their sides at the top as usual.

Will see how things are tonight. Hoping better..

Day 127

Per my last post above - I had a feeling this was coming..

My smaller (male I believe) clownfish passed away last night during the night.

I woke to find his body being "sucked up" against the powerhead. No harm to his body and I'm thinking it's better this way, if he sank down to the bottom I think the shrimp might have had an interest..

I'm very saddening - some people might think "it's just a little fish" ... but I spent the past four months trying my hardest to learn this hobby and understand as much of as it I could. I'm thankful to have to ability to invest in this hobby, as the rewards speak for themselves - I spent hours upon hours infront of my aquarium with my camera taking photos and showing them off here on Nanoreef. I guess it's nature though, and these things can happen and sometimes we may try but not succeed. I lost the battle to the Flukes for this guy.

The larger (female I believe) clownfish was acting normal this morning and resting where she normally does. She has been eating normally over the past few days, too and showing signs of slight improvement. I will see when I'm home tonight how she is doing.

In terms of the male - I've read some bad stories of ways people dispose of the fish. It may sound cliche' but I've put the body in a air tight ziploc this morning and when I'm home will be digging a small hole behind our garage to bury him the proper way. I will place a larger stone above to always remember as deserved.

I hope that I was able to provide a better life than the LFS may have given he was kept in the tank there. Hopefully my reef was more interesting and kept him happy for the time he was around.

R.I.P. little dude ..

I want to also give a big thank you to everyone on here for following along and for the endless support and input with my reef. I reazlie 38 pages is a fair amount and I'm very happy to have made it this far. I ofcourse plan to continue with my Spec V and will see where it takes me. Right now my focus will be on the female clown remaining.

So sorry to hear about your little guy. :tears: I know you tried your best to help him - sometimes there is just nothing we can do. I'm glad to hear that the larger clown is doing well and showing signs of improvement!

So sorry to hear about your little guy.

I would do the same if something happened to mine.

You have a really cool tank, I'm sure he enjoyed it!

I really like how much you care for your fish and your tank in general. Wish everyone with any sort of pet would act that way. I'm really sorry to hear about your fish Kijho  Just know you tried your best but there wasn't much else you could have done. I'm glad that he will be getting a proper funeral though :)

We are rooting for the bigger clown and I'm happy she is showing signs of improvement. Hopefully all ends well. I will continue following your thread.

Thanks for all of the kind words everyone. I just got home and the female clownfish is swimming pretty sporadically all over .. I think she's looking for the male. Pretty upsetting to see :(

Sorry to hear about the passing of the male :(, I have lost a few clowns over the last 12 months (mainly due to the female beating the male to death) and it isn't easy. The female always showed signs of distress after the passing but recovered fairly quickly. You will probably find that she will try to bond with another fish or coral in the mean time but considering how young she still is, after you get the Flukes sorted out, if you were to introduce another juvenile she should take to it fairly quickly.

Day 131:

Not much improvement in my female clown, she's still eating though.. she's become pretty sad I think and likes to just stay beneath the "arch" in my rock :(

Here's a few photo's for an update..

I'm heading out on a vacation for the next 8 days, parents are gonna be looking after my reef for my while I'm away thankfully. All they will have to do will be distilled water top-off's and feeding. Going to do a good mysis spot feeding on my acans tonight / tomorrow and hope they do good for the week on pellets :)

Everything is pretty much the same! Still running prazi pro and will leave the chemi/ puri out of the tank still for the week I'm away.

Sorry to hear about your male Clown, buddy. Your tank is even more incredible than when I last saw it. You'll be hearing a lot from me once I start picking up frags. You are the master, and I am a padawan once again haha :)

Thanks Evan my dude .. Excited to see you getting back up and running!

My mother's been very kind this week and taking good care of my reef! I've left it very minimal for her but she's sending me updates. I can't post pics from my iPad unfortunately.. Not sure how and too lazy to figure out haha, but I'm home late tomorrow night and a 5 month update will be coming as it's just passed :)

She told me the clown is doing good, and eating lots still so I'm very pleased.
