debbeach13
It has been 2 weeks and a few days since any maintenance was done on this tank. This morning I did a 1-gallon WC. Replaced the carbon and the filter floss, but I only rinsed on the pad. 2 Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
Nothing going on around here. Quackers is a good representing of my mood tonight. Earlier today I ran into petco to check is any fish might come home with me. 3 of the 6 saltwater tanks they have where getting a Reno cleaning. I decided instead to introduce Dan Dan to some mermaids. That only had the one (2 but the same). He was not impressed. 2 3 Quote Link to comment

debbeach13
Well all of our travels have once again caused Diver Dan to lose his hose. The nub is still there. Even though I haven’t used the air since Dan moved into this tank from the Evo 5. I think I should attempt to reattach his air line. Any opinions? 1 Quote Link to comment
seabass
I think Dan looks perfectly fine without it. But if it can be reattached easily, then I'd probably reattach it. Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
I ran out to Walmart and found this when I got home. Evidently the poopsie present I received yesterday for the Reef-Casa tank was 1 of 2. Now the question is does Diver Dan get a new suit? It’s funny when I originally got Dan I was hoping for this one but it clearly states that your purchase maybe a different color than the picture. 3 Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
My old buddy Diver Dan has his air hose reattached. He is back in the tank. It’s silly but I felt after all we’ve been through I couldn’t just replace him. Since the top was off and Flnch was already upset I turned the rock on it’s side. Which does put some putty front and center. The rock is now also touching the back wall but I am going to leave it for now. I also put a tiny piece of pulsing Xenia in the fake coral next to Dan. The little dot almost across from Dans belt is the Xenia. It was exposed to the air for more than a few minutes. I have never tested this tank so who knows. 6 Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
The human pulled out the rock. Of course this made Flinch jump out and hit the floor. That’s a 4 foot drop, before adding air height in. He was put right back in the tank and seems fine. So new scape. I was moved to a new spot but kept floating away because the sand is so thin now.I guess I was moved because the Xenia was getting too much flow. It’s all closed up but still there. Last picture showing the back but mostly Flinch. 2 Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
Hi everyone. Diver Dan here I wanted to update you that the tank is chugging along. Flinch for some reason stayed hidden from around 10 at night on Tuesday until around 5pm on Wednesday. The human was so worried he jumped either into the back chambers or out of the tank. She went a little crazy looking for him. Even moving the scape, a little, using a flashlight to check the back chambers but could not find him. When he finally reappeared, he looked fine and ate his supper last night. In other news the rock is still super Green. Due to day-to-day life the human never got any new coral for this tank. She did finally throw a few frags in here from the 20L. They are pulsing xenia, clove polyps, mushrooms that are purple with green stripes (not so much under this light) a toadstool and blue sympodium. Just to have something the tank. I think she really got sidetracked with the new studio 12 tank. I forgive her, sort of. She did make my life much more interesting. Details will be shown in the after pictures. See you all then. 4 Quote Link to comment

Those are the before pictures. This tank is not a good representation of a RENO because was emptied and restarted. It is and looks like a newly started tank. I believe it is a good representation of trying to make another reef using what you have laying around. That was not actually what I was going for but that's where I ended up so far. Total cost for the one new addition is $10.99. Hi everyone Driver Dan here. Let me introduce you to MARIA Mermaid. The star of the sea and love of my life. Thank you Seabass for the introduction. 5 Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
If I put the shade up this tank gets about 5 minutes of morning sun filtered through shear curtains. 4 2 Quote Link to comment

debbeach13
I am curiously waiting to see what happens color wise. Definitely the brightest green I have ever had. Today I did a 2-gallon W/C, new filter media. Now all 3 tanks are done. 3 Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
Just did a W/C, new filter pad and fluff, left the carbon. Also, for the first time I pulled out the pump, took it apart and cleaned it! Absolutely GROSS. Still nervous about what is up with all that green. I can't decide if it is OK to mount corals up there. I image a bunch of hair algae or some other algae smothering everything. 3 Quote Link to comment

Reefkid88
I use the Red Sea PH kit,I have heard that the Salifert one gives the same kinda results you got. 1 Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
Not sure I would call it 2 in the picture. There is a hint of pink in real life. 1 Quote Link to comment
