Pod Your Reef

Recommended Posts

This is my new Fluval Evo 5 tank. I'm a first time saltwater tanker as I've only had freshwater in the past. I want to get advice from experienced reefers and others who have used this tank before.  I have 3 inhabitants in my tank. My first question is water flow.  Is my circulation pump in a good spot? Also please feel free to give feedback/advice on my setup as I like to learn and gain more experience. Thanks in advance community!

Welcome fellow Evo 5 owner.

To answer your question flow will depend on your inhabitants (corals), since you don't have corals not much to recommend yet. You might want to hop on the Evo 5 owners thread for mods and inspirations of other owners. You can also check out other peoples tank journals.  You choose a nice little tank to start with

Happy reefing. 😁

I have one heater aqueon 50w preset in my return chamber but since I've had a cold snap in my area the tank dropped down to 70 so I put a flat aqueon 15w Betta heateri the display . It's done by a good job of maintaining the 79 I want. I use an inkbird controller as well I think what happens is the preset heater is set to 78 and will turn off prematurely cause the return chamber heats up quick and the water is stagnant there. My frist has a intank media basket so I have no where else to put it.
