A lot of pics coming through! 😊

Several more zoa & paly polyps have opened up today. I have no idea what some of them are called, but I find them beautiful regardless. 🥰

Red PE (Ultra-Large morph) :

Different angles of the new ledge - there's also Midas, Fairy Dust & several more unidentified morphs on the rock:

Not something new, but I just love my Sunny Ds and can't help sharing it with all of you: 😅

Two of my underfilmed corals - the spotted red discosoma, which was actually a hitchiker on the hairy shroom's rock, and the unknown purple-polyped green monti, which was originally a browned out freebie from my LFS a month ago:

Most of the new heads are tiny and still developing proper skirts around the super-tiny mouths, but I'm very happy that it keeps growing. 🥰

I love the yellow edges around my rainbow brain: 🥰

It might not look like much, but given that it only had *one tiny streak of yellow when I first acquired it, and now has began to develop more intense colors, I truly think it's a bit of a miracle: 😅

^My older turban snail was completely cleaned out last night. I think it accidently flipped over and was vulnerable, so my crab took advantage and ate it. Ultimately, I'm not really sure because I was asleep when all of this happened, but I honestly wouldn't put it past Geralt to have some late night munchies. 🤷‍♀️

Puffy acans:

Was taking some time to observe the tank - mostly to relax and check on the health of all the animals. 😊

I really loved the subtle overlaps between various pieces throughout the tank:

I'll have to remove the tiny pavona fraglet that I tried sticking to the rock - it's covered in algae, and well, dead (?), I think. 🤷‍♀️

Shot a quick text to my LFS Manager. He believes the one at the bottom is a Firestorm zoa:

20220113_185058.thumb.jpg.d040777bdb6fc1c2f89ca772fa8a48f2.jpg

Although he's not sure about the maroon one above, which appears to be some sort of paly.

He also thinks these ones *might be Gorilla Nipple zoas:

20220113_185112.thumb.jpg.29f6489ebf565ab22e544bc0e3eaee4c.jpg

But...I have gorilla nipple zoas, and they don't look like these. So I'm not 100% sure what these are called - maybe after they color up a bit more, I can get a proper ID. 🤔

I also reserved more zoas, palys & shrooms at the LFS to add to my collection in the future:

20220110_180302.thumb.jpg.00a4fdeabe2f49ebe72a20d395597652.jpg

One of the frags is a rusty red nuclear death. The mother colony in the store's DT is absolutely beautiful. 🥰

The shrooms are not bleached - my camera couldn't capture the colors correctly under actinics. One's an ultra orange, another is an ultra green rhodactis. I really loved the ultra green I spotted in @Murphych 's journal, so I tried to see if I could get something similar here. Was pleasantly surprised to see rows of them available today, so I snagged one. 🥰

Also, not sure at what point my trumpet coral split again, but it's up to 4 heads now:

IMG_20220110_181305_061.thumb.jpg.c11840b4af8d76edaf13ad279dafb447.jpg

All squished between the SunnyDs. 😊

Looks great !!

Yes I would agree that's a Firestorm 👍🏼

Thanks for the compliment & positive ID too! I'm still not sure what the top one is called - just waiting for it to change color (if it can) and look it up again after/if it does. 🙂

Yeah I'm struggling with the top one. It's the green mouth that's throwing me off.. I'll have to dig around some zoa sites to find out.. looks good though!

It is quite good for the price. If your tank is not too high, the light is more than sufficient to grow all sorts of corals, including SPS. 😊👍

Woke up this morning, and yep, the tank's in trouble. 😔

Half of the pavona is gone - a few more pieces look peaky as well. 😔

I want to do an emergency WC, but I can't. When I got out of bed today, I had severe pain extending from my left upper back and it flowed down to my left upper arm. I can't use my arm properly - left shoulder joint screams bloody murder if I try. 😕

I think I slept wrongly. Either that, or overusing both my arms for the last few days to clean various tanks/enclosures & watering the uber large garden (the garden hose is quite heavy and I have to physically haul it around from one section of the garden to the other during watering - as opposed to just dragging it) took its toll. 😕

So no choice but I have to rest this one out and leave the tank alone for at least a day. I can still mop up some of the film using tissues using my good right hand, so I'll do that this evening.

I think the film is blocking light from reaching the corals below - tank looks quite dim despite the brightness of the lights almost at max. When I had cyano, this film was virtually non-existent. Now that the cyano is gone, it appears this particular algae has become the dominant algae strain in the tank. Quite possibly due to lack of diversity in microfauna too. Need to seed the tank with some critters & *maybe macro somehow. 🤔

Jeez you just cannot catch a break. As always take care of you first. On a different subject I was wondering the other day. Are you still writing?

Writing is at a standstill, unfortunately. Although my head is teeming with ideas. Just can't seem to get it written down or work. I'm still having a lot of difficulty and trouble getting my first book published. It's...dejecting to be rejected over and over, tbh. And definitely wearing me down.
