How's that longnose Atlantic butterfly doing? Do you think 36" is too short?

Yeah.  I think 36" is too short.   Especially if there isn't much depth.   I feel like my tank is the absolute bare minimum for that fish, but he is doing fine.  I selected this tank especially to try to squeeze in some fish that are commonly placed in 48" tanks and generally get listed as needing 40 or 50 gallons. 

 

There is no way I would try the larger fairy wrasse or butterfly in 36" unless I added another more depth and height.
