BJV
Hi All, Just had to post a couple of photos of my new Black Sun Coral. I have had him a week today. It is opening and eating, so I think it going to do fine in BC29. Thank for looking, Barry 4 Quote Link to comment

BJV
What's he eating? Have any problems with any other animals stealing food? My Black Sun Coral is eating Mysis Shrimp and Blood worms. I have not had any problems with anyone stealing food. I have been feeding it daily. Barry Quote Link to comment
12_egg_Omelette
I hit mine with cyclopeeze. Might go back to mysis. Quote Link to comment

Kellysnano
That's beautiful. I had one as well and for about 8 months he was great - beautiful polyp extension and ate well. Then for some unknown reason the black flesh turned a light brown color and most of the polyps died off. My other Suns and dendros all remained fine. It's still hanging in there and eats but certainly not as spectacular. I have read some posts that the black ones are harder to keep but not sure why that would be. I am interested to see how yours does. So lovely. Quote Link to comment
BJV
Hi All, One thing I might add, I do add Selcon Vitamin Fish Food Supplement to any food I feed my sun corals. Barry Quote Link to comment

BJV
Hi All,Well my new BRS mini GFO/Carbon reactor has been running for about 24hrs.The biggest thing I have noticed is how much clearer the water is, like night and day.One other thing my skimmer in not skimming anything, I'm not sure if that's good or bad.Any thoughts,Barry Quote Link to comment
12_egg_Omelette
I would take it as you can now pump in more food. Get things growing. Quote Link to comment
BJV
Hi All, Here's a video of feeding my Sun Corals. Sorry for the poor quality of the video. I feed them every day. Both the Sun Corals open up about 4:00pm to be fed. Barry https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=za5CvBTY-Qk 1 Quote Link to comment
12_egg_Omelette
Awesome man, a great addition to a 29 gallon, you can feed it and not worry about over feeding it's doing great. Was it fully open at the LFS before you bought it or did it take a lot of work for it to open up? Quote Link to comment

Was it fully open at the LFS before you bought it or did it take a lot of work for it to open up? I bought the black sun coral online site unseen. It took two weeks of feeding it out of the tank in a bowl to get it to open like it is now. Barry Quote Link to comment
duncan-junkie
when I had my sun corals, I would take them out and put them in a bowl with tank water to feed them.....have you had any problems with excess nutrients, or algae. Those things can eat!!! Quote Link to comment
