cju84
Added a backdrop to hide some wires. Some new pics to add - just some growth/closeups of some corals. Apologize for the potato camera (iPhone 5S - Is there an app that takes better pics??). 7 Quote Link to comment

teenyreef
Looking beautiful as always! My vids look good on my computer but always end up jerky on Youtube. I've never taken the time to really figure out why. Somebody posted recently about using an orange gel filter he got from the local camera store to help with the white balance in his cell phone pics. It was a huge improvement, but your pictures look a lot better than his did without the filter. Still, it's something you could try. 1 Quote Link to comment

cju84
Terrible picture, but I moved some SPS I got from TheKleinReef back to the top of my tank and the Brittle Stars seem to be obsessed with it. I hardly ever see them come out from the rock. 2 Quote Link to comment

cju84
Hey all - Help!! I've been away from the forums for quite some time but over the past month or two, there has been white gunk accumulating at the surface of my tank. It almost looks like salt particles just nestling up there. I've been doing 50% water changes the past few weeks and it's not going away. I wonder if perhaps my powerhead was too far below the surface and therefore it's been collecting? Has my salt mix gone bad? Does this look like anything else anyone has seen? This is a 5g pico with a koralia 240 pump. I have one clown, 3 peppermint shrimp, and a few other cleanup crew dudes. Also, the tank is about 3 years old now if that means anything. Not really any other issues to report. I apologize if this should have been sent to the pest forum. Thanks guys! 1 Quote Link to comment
cju84
Finally upgraded from my Ecoxotic LED strips to Coral Compulsion's 24w full spectrum 20k LED. Currently have about 10" above the water with the hopes it won't scorch my candy canes. Not sure how much I'm liking the look at this point but may take some time getting used to. I can't seem to take a good picture with my DSLR nor phone camera... pic doesn't really do it justice. edit: picture taken a few minutes ago with only 10 minutes left of light for the day (corals starting to retract) Thoughts? coral compulsion 24w par38 20k full spectrum lights (new) Ecoxotic LED strips (15w total) (old lighting) (potato camera) 2 Quote Link to comment
