That's gonna be sweet when it all filled up

Its gonna be nice.

Not just a random collection of corals.

But, an actual collected thought.

Maybe my first.... Lol

Mini Fan showed up, But I'm an idiot.

I ordered a 5v, instead of a 12v.... *derp*

I'll be heading to a computer store, to pick up a 12V fan, tomoro.

Fits okay, tho.

Considering this isnt the intended application. :D

*The glass is not chipped... Thats a reflection of the thermometer suction cup.*

Ugh... Anyone in Nor-Cal have 7lbs of (relatively flat) PEST FREE Live Rock?

The LFS's just toss "whatever" into the rock tanks.

I domt like whatever, aka, GHA, etc.

I've you're interested in a nice "shelf" piece,I've got one. It's kinda like a upside down L actually. Creates a nice cave on the underside, but idk if shipping would be worth it,and it's dry lol.

Besides maybe prolonging the cycle, why don't you check out BRS's dry shelf rock ? I'm sure you could email them and see if they can find you a nice piece for decent.

I have had luck with dry rock plus bacteria in a bottle plus a small seed of live... That Dr. Tim's stuff is supposed to be pretty legit too. I also kinda like the dry rock look better for some reason.

So your going with dry rock?

Possibly...here's my thoughts:

- I want a fast cycle.

- but, am willing to sacrifice a fast cycle, for CLEAN rock.

- If I do go with clean/dry rock, I will be a cleanliness-nazi about new frags.

It's just that I hate algae.

I freaking hate it.

A lot.

* All my LFS's have gone to complete sh*t.

* They just dont seem to care at all, anymore.

And, that Marco Shelf stuff, is NICE looking.

I totally agree with you. I hate algae and wish I would have started with better quality rock. I am planning on using Macro Rocks for my next build as well.

Just emailed Marco Rocks.

Asked for specific sized pieces.

Shouldn't be too difficult.

We'll see how they reply.

Ive been in that position, too many times.

My days of algae scrubbing, water testing and chasing down Nitrates/Phosphates, are over.

My aquarium husbandry, will now consist of Clean Rock, ChemiPure, Phosban, and 100% WC's.

Luckily I haven't had any real issues with the rock leaching nitrates/phosphates or anything, I just don't really like the look of the rock I used. I got it free from the guy the I bought the tank from. But I'm loving the look of the dry rock at Macro Rock

Can't wait to see!

Marine depot, BRS and Premium Aquatics all carry nice dry rock.

I am waiting for Marine Depots Memorial Day sale..they have 10lbs of dry rock for $19. I have used it before and it's pretty nice and easy to stack.

Waiting to redo my 40 cause I have Mojano hell.

I agree with you, next go around I'll be doing the same. In fact I've opted to not even transfer anything from my current tank to my new set up. I'm going to run it like a lab. Ha..

Check this out: http://www.caribsea.com/caribsea/itempage_rock_liferock.html

Also take a lookie here: http://www.drtimsaquatics.com/saltwater-aquarium-products

What I plan to do is, use that rock, use the nitrifying bacteria from Dr Tims, and natural sea water (passed through a filter sock). I can't imagine a long cycle or a dirty tank like this.

Edit: I already do 50% water changes almost twice a week but never longer than once a week. I live in Miami and NSW is available at every LFS (which is a lot of them around here).

On a side note:

My buddy got Married, yesterday.

They had a Potluck style lunch....

Invite me to a potluck... this is how I roll....

6 racks of Pork Spare Ribs.

Yep.

That's ~$80 in ribs.

BRS has some gorgeous rocks. And it's fairly cheap. Their Tonga rock is awesome looking as well too.

But seemin you're in central fl,it's a bit of a drive but check out Oceans Direct man,I think you'll like them. I've gotten all my rock from them.

If your willing to drive, you could check out some of the LFSs out here in the bay. They may have some nice stuff.
