Hahahaha that's awesome. What're you goin to use meow ?

Gonna make a custom Res., and Float-Switch an AquaLifter.

Black aquarium tubing should blend nicely. ;)

The Res. will take up half the stand, and be ~ 1g. (5"x3.75"x13")

It will be a custom rectangle, made from .25" Plexi.

With a fill port/cap on top.

I'm gonna:

Pimp the sh!t outta it.

Ordered a much smaller project box, for the Led Driver/Dimmer/power source.

Picked up a fan for it, too.

Wanna make sure it stays real cool. :D

I've been known to VASTLY overpay, for next day air, just to get things I had to have "NOW". :D

These "drop ship" sites, for the most part, wont let you tho. :(

Plus, all my "toy" money is on PayPal.

So, I gosta wait till friday to buy water mixing/change supplies, Rock, Sand, and Livestock.

I did just order a Media Basket, from ebay.

Sorry, StevieT..... But, you no make the size I need.

My trigger-finger is getting itchy, in regards to the Rock Work.

I have an awesome idea to fill as much vertical space, as possible.

Kind of a "Bonsai Tree of shelves".

The overflow will have a Monti' shelf.

Hahaha you gotta do what you gotta do though man. Why not pay if you got it ? I know I would, shoooot. I've thought about getting a intank, but they are just so damn expensive.

The Innocative Marine media baskets are really nice, let me know how you like it,I've been thinking about getting one for my 7 gallon. I've just got the media bags hanging right at the overflow to my false wall lol.

If Stevie woulda had something I needed, I woulda grabbed it.

I scoured the inTank site looking for a compatible model.

He dont make one.

Ive ALWAYS bought from StevieT, in the past.

I remember the prototype baskets, tho, so.... *old guy in walker*

I hear you. I always try being a one stop shopper though, that's why I love shopping at marine depot and aquacave. I love both of them. F&S is another favorite of mine too though.

Maybe something equal in dimensions to your DT or to the whole thing. Squarish.

I just read through the build thus far. Coming out nice so far.

I had a cool idea for the shade. You should fab something out of sheet metal....that way it sticks with the industrial look of what your doing so far. Anyways, keep up the good work.....lookin good.

I like this idea.

I was thinking square so it blends with the stand and maybe flared out at the bottom. Pretty simple, and you could probably find a way to attach it straight to the heatsink and it would double as the "enclosure". 2 birds with 1 stone

Exactly what I was thinking.....go make it! LOL

Seriously, though, if you do end up sticking with that idea, I can't wait to see it.

2"x4"x8", Aluminum Project Box arrived. :D

So, I got to gutting the old ballast case, re-doing all the wiring, and re-soldering.

Blank slate.

Ive learned one glaring, should-be-obvious, totally alien, concept; As a Mechanic...

That concept is: "If the sh*t works, LABEL IT, and PUT IT BACK TOGETHER CORRECTLY."

Seems sooooo simple.... Soooooo obvious.... But, it eludes even the most intelligent of individuals.

However, on occasion I'll find the "previous owner abuse", and head off the "Previous Owner Syndrome. (See what I did there?) ;)

Like the dimmer...

It had the leads exposed.

Woulda been totally fine in the plastic box, but in the aluminum box, not so much.

Heading off the problems.

Ya know?

Also... I have all the right tools and experience. :D

Hahaha half the time if I label it,it still wouldn't go back together right. Like the time I decided I wanted to take my friends ZX6 apart and flat black the whole bike, got finished putting it back together and had a Dixie cup full of nuts and bolts still left over, oooopps lol. Thank god the bike shop was not even a minute up the road lol.

Now I learned labeling, taking picture if things and writing stuff down helps hahaha.
