Alex B
So I like the black back when actinics are on, hate it when whites are on. Damnit! Why can't this tank just make me happy. Someone come steal this ish and I'll claim it on my insurance. Link to comment
Lawnman
Haven't posted pics in a long time...nothing special, but I did some work today. Corals seem to have acclimated to the new lighting so I lowered it a little bit. The center overflow has also been driving me nuts! I love clear backs, but it looks weird with a center overflow. I decided to grab some black window tint and go to town. Water is a little cloudy (was cleaning the pumps) but here is a couple fts. This is with only the 2 actinics on. I need to get with Dave and get some leds on here. I miss my shimmer a lot. Well let me know what u guys think of the black background! https://www.flickr.com/photos/123509535@N06/15400147576/]https://www.flickr.com/photos/123509535@N06/15400147576/]DSC_0046 by https://www.flickr.com/people/123509535@N06/]touchofklasse, on Flickrhttps://www.flickr.com/photos/123509535@N06/15236555280/]https://www.flickr.com/photos/123509535@N06/15236555280/]DSC_0049 by https://www.flickr.com/people/123509535@N06/]touchofklasse, on FlickrSweet light I run the same one . Alex B
Thanks man! This is my second Ati. My first was a regular sunpower. The dimmable version is really cool. Nice having a controller. I do miss the shimmer with my leds though! Link to comment

TheKleinReef
When mine established it grew like a weed. I've since had trouble getting it to establish. I lost 90% of my colony. But I still have a 3" frag left hoping it establishes. If not, I'll have to get a new strand or something. Link to comment
Reefkid88
Probably look at you crazy lol and ask himself how the hell you can even have I covered by insurance hahaha. I agree,I like the tank with t5's better. How's growth/car been since the switch ? Link to comment

Arkayology
I'm glad things are going well with the lighting change. Definitely get some LED's in there!!! Nothing wrong with going back to T5s if that is what you know. How about some more corals shots under the new lights!!! Link to comment

Alex B
Took a couple more pics today. This shows the color with all 8 bulbs on and the black background. Also took some pics of the corals that are doing better. Some are still browned out, but looking better. Alex B
Thanks Ark! It's been a long battle. I have lost more coral in this tank dialing it in, then I think I have lost in 5 years of reefing. The Ati has been on for 2 weeks, and there is a clear difference. I don't attribute it all to lighting. Also been off zeovit for about a month 1/2. Things were starting to color up under the hybrid also, I think my tank just needed a tad more light. Link to comment

Polarcollision
Is it possible that they moved on to the free-floating stage and got filtered out? Could be. I've never heard of these hydroids going through a free floating stage, but I'm not expert. I've noticed the film algae and coralline on my rocks has kind of taken over. I think that's the reason they have pretty much disappeared. I always thought all hydroids sexually reproduce in a medusa stage. Maybe not. Good news! I got a tiny blue tuxedo urchin to eat red geledium and it's cleaning out hydroids too. Took a toothbrush to the areas skipped and they're down to almost nothing now. Crossing fingers this is the end of them. I'll stop feeding sponge power for a while to help push them out, too. Link to comment
