t8raff
It was definatly a good deal. Most of the zoas around here (except for that guy) go for about 30 a frag of 5-10 polyps. I could easily get over 10 frags like that from this one rock. Think ill keep it how it is though. Link to comment
t8raff
i think its slowly going away. ive noticed its not coming back as thick as it was before. kind of a light dusting on the sand. i think once i can find some chaeto then it will be good. Link to comment
t8raff
one zoa decided to open. it was a gold/yellow color at the lfs now they are kinda lime green http://s315.photobucket.com/user/t8raff/media/20130707_154446_zpseb2098b4.jpg.html'> Link to comment
t8raff
so this just happened.... something was making an horrible noise. thought it was the filter so was playing around with that but wasnt going away. hmm must be the power head. went to take the grate off the front to clean it out and well, the suction cup stayed on the glass and the power head was in my hand.. $#!+..... http://s315.photobucket.com/user/t8raff/media/20130707_163602_zpsa5d77f4e.jpg.html'> worse part is i cant find the receipt to try and return it. now i need to buy another power head that i dont have the money for Link to comment

FlowerMama
I don't have any macro in my Evolve8 but I do plan on it for my 20L. Some in the tank and some in the refugium. I'm sure you've already looked but boy there are beautiful macro tanks out there. Link to comment
t8raff
Yeah there are some pretty nice ones. I think this is going to be all the macro i put in. Hopfully the ulva will stay attatched to that rock. I didnt really know how to place it since i didnt really see any roots kinda just a clump of leaves. Just found holes in the rock and placed them there. Link to comment

t8raff
decided it was time to stop using that salt i have and go with some reef crystals http://s315.photobucket.com/user/t8raff/media/20130717_143853_zpsd0df4cd9.jpg.html'> this salt is so much different than the other. more of a powder where as the other is more granular. i decided to go with this because it seems like no matter what i do my mg just will not rise. hopefully this will do the job. t8raff
2 gallon water change is done. also moved some stuff around to clear up the sand bed.. well whats left of it. after vaccuming up that crap on the sand the past month or two has left me with almost no sand. everything is still mad at me for moving them but here are a couple of pics http://s315.photobucket.com/user/t8raff/media/20130717_160848_zps45693b95.jpg.html'> http://s315.photobucket.com/user/t8raff/media/20130717_160902_zps0019b754.jpg.html'> moved the two rics to the middle of the tank where there is a ledge and put the acan and a zoa frag where the mushrooms once were. also placed a couple of zoa frags on top of the rock where the mushrooms now are. only thing baffling me now is where to place the torch. it opens up where it is at but doesnt extend more than an inch. its a really big head so i know it should extend more than that. i almost want to trade places with it and the froggy but the frog is so happy where it currently is. t8raff
well... look what i just did http://s315.photobucket.com/user/t8raff/media/20130717_180550_zpseb3d2f84.jpg.html'> took the rock on the right out and placed the froggy in its place then put the torch where the frog was. everything in the tank hates me right now but i think it looks better. gives the frog room to grow. i think in a few months as it grows in it will look perfect right there. i had to put the power head in the front which i do not like but its diverting the flow from the ac70 off of the frog. i think next paycheck it will be time to buy a better power head. im thinking the korilla nano. so.. what is everyones thoughts? FlowerMama
I'm in the same boat, don't know what circulation I'm going to have yet for my 20 in Jan. It's like, if you're MP10 then you're a fan there or you've gone w/ the group that like Jebao- for those that want to show the MP10 folks after that it's a toss up between Tunze and Koralia and whether it's 2 pumps on each end, or just one, and if you do controllers, but do some of the twirly jigs spin backwards upon start up, etc. I just don't know. FlowerMama
Maybe a medium sized one on each end, face it up towards the surface but that their streams hit and disperse and ruffle up the rest of the tank. That's my guess. Even in my Aq 8 I have the Koralia and I have the stock output facing each other so they help cancel out a little- so it's not strong in one direction. Link to comment

t8raff
Okay need some help from someone. Another frag of zoas are starting to look bad. Vitamin c hasnt kicked in yet i guess. Seems like all of this started happening right after i did a small water change with new salt. Switched from cheapo salt i got for free from work to reef crystals. Could this be whats affecting everything? Would it be worth it to put everything in the 10 gallon i have and do a 100 percent water change with all new salt? If so i might just re start with new sand and new base rock. Link to comment
