Wow, your pics will look that much more incredible. Does that mean we have magnified drool since you'll be doing closeups?

We now drool so much Annette that we are getting dehydrated :)

No issues with mine, it never REALLY was an amazing skimmer but it got the job done, now this one WOW

Yes with all the Skimmer choices on the market nowadays it really becomes difficult to decide which one is the "best" one, that is if there is such a "beast" ... Sometimes wondering ...

Of course on my 20 G nano I have a hang-on (Red Sea Prism Pro) and it looks like it is slowly but surely "giving up on me" and that is even after I have cleaned it many many times ... and cleaned AlL parts I can get to .... Not sure why and Red Sea does not seem to have an explanation for it either and attributes it to the water quality (low DOC and low detritus and so not much to skim .. but to be honest I do not really "buy" that explanation.

Guess I will have to set up a sump and get a decent skimmer ... the question remains: Which One ?

Get a Diablo! It's so amazing they have a smaller model I think the 150 it's on a thinner base and can be squeezed into a smaller sump. I went bigger as I have the room and hey why not!

Red Sea is just giving an excuse, this skimmer has been pulling gunk for 48 hours and I run a clean system as well, just depends on the skimmer I guess.

Ha no drooling guys and gals I am not worthy!

Thans Randi Candi :)

I'll have a look at the Diablo ... Seems like you feel it is a real good unit ...

And for Annette ... ... soon we'll be drooling over your tank too !

Albert, I don't know if this helps or not because I'm sure it depends on your set up but my cousin has a DC150 for his 75gallon and he got it today and......it's 1/4" too long and there's nothing he can grind down to squeeze it in. Whereas my sister has the DC250 for her 150 gallon and it says "it should only sit 6" in the water" and she wished it could go deeper. Guess the moral of the story is.....You just never know once you get it home. This is certainly reminiscent of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. Thanks for the vote of confidence in my tank, long way to go.

For your sister, have her just set the skimmer on top of something to get it into 6" of water. I have some landscaping stones from Home Depot (they're just cut limestone) that my skimmer used to sit on. Just used what I had at the time and was too lazy to change it out :)

Thanks. So I guess by what she said she wants it to sit deeper than the 6. So it sounds like 6 isn't the issue, I don't know, all I know is she showed me a video of it and it did look amazing.

And then here's me with my 20gallon long (soon) and I'll have a whopping Aquaticlife Mini protein skimmer 115 on it! Whoa BABY- WATCH OUT. Run baby Run!!

No, it can't sit deeper. It has to be raised up to sit in as close to 6" of water as possible.

I must've misunderstood her- thanks for clarifying.

The skimmers can only be set so deep they come with the recommendations on the instructions.

Their all good the little crabby is awesome. The fish are all fatties pics tonight the clammy is fat and happy open like Kevin now and just wow.

I used some styrofoam to raise mine about 1" in the sump but it works awesome.

Thanks for posting in here sorry I missed it been busy.

Okay got the macro but this is so typical it needs a converter to work with my camera, I searched for macros for my camera's make and model and this came up but apparently I need the converter as it is a Pen Series and is therefore a micro 4/3 system VS a 4/3 system.... Sigh sorry only normal pics this weekend.

My sister just sent me a video of her Diablo250 on the lowest sitting. Holy Mackerel! That thing really busts some serious heiny on that lowest setting. Can't imagine what yours or hers does on the regular one. Very impressive. I'm excited for you.

Okay .... all I have for now. Thanks for looking! More later or tomorrow, this is 3 weeks after starting the Total Nutrition Powder from Daphbio France and man oh man corals are growing! I have seen a little speckling of cyano on the SB even though I stir and there is tons of flow so I am going to decrease the amount from 2 capsules to 1.5~ and see what happens. ;) For now I stir and blast it to keep it at bay and it seems to be working.

Looking awesome! Can't wait for macro shots! And it makes me feel so much better that you have such a happy healthy tank and see cyano too. It's such an ugly little PITA!

I have not seen that happen Randi ... but yes do as you say and see what gives .. I use it too and I have not had any appear and they should not. The feedback I get is ++ and no indication of them ... not sure why you see small patches ...

Keep us posted ... thanks.
