hxcaquaman Posted January 4, 2009 Share Posted January 4, 2009 i personally use distilled, since its cheap and all I have to do is pick some up from the supermarket, R/O is suppose to be the best, but those membranes and carts. cost too much for my blood, plus you have to replace them. and like the others where saying, running a skimmer and having inverts and corals will deminish your iodine supa fast. good luck bud ~Ian that reminds me I need to do a water change on my 10 gallon and does with iodine a lil more often haha Link to comment
itzclayyo Posted January 5, 2009 Share Posted January 5, 2009 what should I do to promote proper molting? My shrimp molted fine multiple times on my 5.5 without issues... however, there was no skimmer on it Is there anythin I can do? Test your iodine levels. Dose accordingly. Link to comment

But I rarely dose, or test for iodine. The only time I really do is if I see problems with my inverts. Link to comment

Mine wiped out 9 or 10 tubs blues in a single evening. If, in the future, you need to know how to get it out, hit me up and I can walk you through the process. Link to comment

Sealife inc has the ninja star snails if your interested in them Sad to say the effed up shrimp died tried to molt again and then just got caught in a powerhead RIP the other shrimp has molted successfully since then though Im not going to lie it is really tight in there but I dont mind it, Ive been able to lace frags and stick my hand in there without knocking over rock work I also have enough space in front for the small mag float so far... no regrets...
