dahliaheartsyou
I just make sure the temp is close and dump them in. That's what someone else just said...but that scares me..... I thought since that can't take in in oxygen as well as fish or something that they got pH/salinity shock easier... Link to comment

dahliaheartsyou
So, I acclimated them, float/add water every 2 minutes... they are zoomin around the place like mad now! cept for the astreas...which are digging in the sand... I got 2 turbos, which are depleting the tank of any algae-including hair! And 2 astreas, 1 tiny cerith... This guy made like a slug trail, but of clean sand! I call this washing the window, snail style dance And here are some pics of the hermits I could see...btw I got 3 red and 2 dwarf blue.... I hope to get better pics soon, but I just wanted to show them to you guys! Link to comment

dahliaheartsyou
You bought all that for your cuc? yep.... well, i knew I needed the flakes/pellet eventually anyways...and I heard hermits favorite is dried seaweed. And the snails favorite is anything but they like the algae flake things... I didn't want my hermits to get a wandering eye for the snails... Plus, I think they are cooler than fish... What can I say, I love them! EDIT:by margarita snail I mean baby cerith...I dunno why I said that... ALSO, on a sad note... my goldfish got stuck in his little jar decoration, he usually just swims back out...but it was al my fault and I feel terrible...makes me wanna just stop doing this... I know it is just a freshwater goldfish, but I've had him so long...just sucks R.I.P. Lucy Link to comment

Sctn4Elk
Great choice of CUC ftw, regardless of other comments...I love hermits and in 5 tanks have had 0 problems....I Iike Cerith for algae, Nass for detrius and hermits for being able to get in the smallest spots and clean things up....I always use 1.5 CUC per gallon and just plan on feeding them once or twice a week after everything is gone.... Zombo
On a happier note, I got my CUC from Reef Scavengers today! For $32.99+shipping, I got the "Nano Cleaner Crew I" -- everyone arrived alive and like others said, no acclimating; snipped open bags and dumped 'em in. Porcelain crab crawled under an outcropping and started filter feeding, emerald crab climbed on a piece of LR, pissed off some zoa's and started picking algae and feeding his face. 10 hermits scattered about and made themselves at home, the 10 Nassarius buried right in, and the 5 small Nerites went "OM NOM NOM!!". The one quiet one of the bunch, the Lettuce nudibranch, stayed pretty ensconced under a small piece of rubble, but as soon as the lights went out, off on a cruise he went! Sorry for the threadjack! Ocho Cinco
Why feed you cuc? If they get fed they won't clean and eat left over fish food. They barely do anything as it already is. Did you get any nasarius snails? Oh, my dogs!!! 1.5 years old She's a young puppy in this pic, now she weighs like 30 pounds and is almost a year. Link to comment

If they get fed they won't clean and eat left over fish food. They barely do anything as it already is. Did you get any nasarius snails?
