spectra Posted July 19, 2015 Share Posted July 19, 2015 Ok was into the hobby years ago and just decided to get back in to it again. Wanted to start small and go from there and love the looks of the rimless tanks. Had an Elos 70 years ago and miss it. Anyway on to the build as it is going to take me a while to get it together as I am trying to budget things....here is what I am thinking for the equipment. XR 15 Pro or a Kessil not sure but also eying the ATI setups. Sicce 1.5 with some spin streams would like decent flow without adding a Vortech Neotherm for the heater. In Tank baskets Let me know what you think about lighting as they are all new to me as MH was in when I got out. And as for stocking the tank probably just doing some zoas and acans as they are my favorite. Maybe a few SPS but not sure. Well onto the pics Started building my own stand as I can never find anything I like. Got to love the Kreg jig! Routed out for the plywood panels. Almost there Just needs some color now..... Ended up going with some Varithane Ebony poly. That's it for now am still working on the stand hopefully in the house this week. Link to comment

I just dabble in the wood working....I don't even have a decent work bench to work off of My table saw does not even have a stand for it....Now my neighbor he has a full blown set up in his garage but did not want to bother him. He built me a nice stand for my Elos years ago out of hickory to match our wood floors. Yes have looked at the Duo and that one is on the list also but do not like all the cords that come with it. spectra Posted July 20, 2015 Author Share Posted July 20, 2015 I used 1x4 and 1x3 for the frame. I wanted the front corner to look the same from both sides. And used 1x3 for the door. I used Poplar years ago on a stand for a 29 gallon and it worked out well. How many cords are coming off the nanobox ? Hopefully have the stand put together this week. I don't get much time during the week to work on it....Put the last coat of poly on and hopefully looks good tomorrow. Temp is like 97 outside so not good for finish work Link to comment

spectra Posted July 26, 2015 Author Share Posted July 26, 2015 Well the stand is finally finished......not even sure how many coats of poly went on it as I was not happy with the way it first came out. But looks good to me now so am happy. Also had some time to play with some rock from Reef Cleaners. Not really sure what way to go yet. Link to comment

spectra Posted September 5, 2015 Author Share Posted September 5, 2015 Well finally got the thing wet......was going to sell it and go bigger but why I have pretty much everything for it ready to go. InTank stuff shows up this week along with some spin streams. Ended up with a 160 WE and kind of like it. Sicce works but I think a MP10 is going to be ordered this week. Wow I paid 35 for it......put it in and it disappeared........put a little food in the tank and well the nassarius came out but not the fish...... Link to comment

Just needs to come out a little more..... Yeah the LFS said they have had it for over a month. I think the reason it was there for so long is that no one ever saw it as they hide Link to comment
