cindyp
here is a november foto! not a full tank shot, alas, but a good view of most of the middle. i haven't seen my second sexy shrimp for a week. i think we must have lost it. very sad. but both my sexies are nearing two years old--and i think that is close to their natural life spans? my tank still has two GIANT stomatella snails (at least 1/2 an inch big if not bigger). i've seen them spew eggs or sperm or whatever simultaneously, but have not seen any babies as of yet. i also have quite a few spiny mini brittle star fish--some quite big ones. i would guess i have at least 4 or 5 in the tank. love those! cindyp
i gave the tank a good old scrubbing yesterday. saw that the back chambers were filled with green bubble algae against the wall. gross. reminded me of warts. happy to scrap that shit all off. some pictures from dusk. the green flower anemone on the left is my latest! the one below it, on the side, is one of the first two i bought for the tank. i have five flower nems in tank right now! and here is a blurry foto of the other first flower nem in my tank. my ultra nem, i haven't ever seen another like it in person. The (relatively) big tank's got 3 but I need more When did you get your new nem? Do they have any more and if so, do you remember what they looked like? Thanksgiving break is coming up soon and I'm definitely paying a visit haha. Link to comment

gena
Love all the colors! Do your back chambers get some light? I have noticed that bubble algae won't grow in shaded areas. Maybe there is a way to shade it from light to keep it from growing. I've been dealing with bubble algae for a while now and I'm finally getting the upper hand. It's just weekly removal by hand and larger water changes that are working for me . Link to comment
cindyp
hello friends!! it's been a rough few weeks. my dad is aging and i think needs to be put in a nursing home. he is still alert, but is divorced from my mom and living alone. no one looking after him, and he's lonely. also, sweet pea just turned 12 and so many tween problems. including Mean Girls. gotta love them, eh? middle school IS the Hunger Games! anyway, i had to indulge in Retail Therapy to make up for the emotional coaster. you know i cannot resist the bubblies! and i'm not talking about alcohol. ha! newest green and purple yuma. love her bubbles. and the best part? the rad teeny feather duster poking out in the back. i hadn't seen it in at ASD! i've bought this type of yuma before and lost it. hopefully this one fares better. Love all the colors! Do your back chambers get some light? I have noticed that bubble algae won't grow in shaded areas. Maybe there is a way to shade it from light to keep it from growing. I've been dealing with bubble algae for a while now and I'm finally getting the upper hand. jedimasterben
If you want that feater duster to spread, but some sodium silicate to dose. You'll have a feather SPLOSION! Link to comment

teenyreef
Cindy, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad! And middle school is not easy especially for girls I'm glad you found that yuma, though, he's beautiful! Best of luck with it Link to comment
gena
Sorry about the tough times right now with your dad and then those mean girls . Retail therapy is the best! I hope this time around with the yuma works out!!!! It's gorgeous . Link to comment
cindyp
i haven't shared a daytime foto of my newest neon green flower nem yet. i plopped her into the crevice of my corner rock, which has my two original RFA attached. it's a bit of a grunger, with some bubble algae and some green hair--but keeping it real, right? looks rustic! anyway, it's scrunched up a little, but is super bright and has stripes too. love its skirt as well. the acan i picked up over a month ago is doing okay surprisingly. my first one up and died, and i'd been shy about buyin another. TGIF, friends! i'm off to minneapolis for my last author event. is is in the 30s there in the day. CRIES! SO COLD! Cindy, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad! And middle school is not easy especially for girls I'm glad you found that yuma, though, he's beautiful! Best of luck with it isn't that the truth? and thanks so much, john, on the well wishes! <3 Sorry about the tough times right now with your dad and then those mean girls . Retail therapy is the best!
