Ratvan
So looks like the start of the GHA phase, just in time for the weekend. Got a bright green film algae as well on the bare bottom which is nice... might leave that and see what it looks like. Water level is low as I had just fed the tank, waited 20 minutes and siphoned out the leftovers. All the macro have some form of GHA growth to them, might need to relocate to a better area of flow after a scrub tomorrow Will add some CuC shortly, will look around for some corals as well, thinking I might go with the colour blue for this one, reds and yellows as accents. 1 Quote Link to comment

Get a razor blade and you can create a nice algae zen garden on the bare bottom! like the colour scheme idea! 1 Quote Link to comment

Ratvan
So have scrubbed the macro, well about half of it and also decided to mount individual "plants" so I can send this out in trades etc. It is also useful for placing within rockwork as you can rip out the bio media once the macro has rooted and you still have the "donor plug" 2 Quote Link to comment
Ratvan
So I need to clean all of the red grape still, will be doing the same as the other macros with that. Think I can get about 5-6 plants, if the scrubbing doesn't harm it too much Also need to clean the intake of the HOB filter, might see if I can get some suction at the bottom of the tank, would make more sense Quote Link to comment
Ratvan
Well I can talk about my one remaining tank that has escaped lockdown. Mwahahaha So I picked up the Frags that I was going to place in the Monti Madness Pico, also picked up a small Acro Bonsai 😄 Having a day out with the Mrs and Mother in Law, going to have a look around some of the LFS nearby for the RSM freshwater conversion and also for this little cube. Will work out iof i can be bothered with the Contest when i can see the tank again 2 Quote Link to comment
Ratvan
Let's have some colour in here, wonder where these should have gone 🤔 Double monti caps, bleh will split Setosa (so long searching) Blue Pavona Bonsai Acro for £5? Why the f*ck not after today 2 Quote Link to comment

Ratvan
The cube is looking great if a little GHA-y. I do really enjoy having this little reef st home. Very relaxing. So I'd noticed that Hantu would sleep in one of the barnacles and Puaka is relegated to the rock outside. However I accidentally knocked the barnacle and had to replace. Now they are both gumming the same barnacle. Will Puaka finally move in, or will he continue to sleep on the rocks? GHA grows on my frag plugs and Macro. Nowhere else, irritating but manageable. CuC is one Hermit and one Cerith. Oh and Puaka enjoys swimming through this Onto top down shots, I'm shooting for growth here with the Asta 20 LED so need some starting shots. The horrible monti graft, I'm actually debating placing this on a PVC pipe alone in the corner and seeing the growth patterns and whether they will whirl together or not. Setosa and 1 week of GHA growth on plugs I am so incredibly happy with this freebie. Initially when I collected the other frags I thought this was Hirsuta but turns out to be a garf Bonsai Acropora. Love it. Want more. More Acros. I didn't understand sticks. I do now. Any other beginner Acros? Green Slimer? Photobomb No fatty not breakfast time for another hour 5 Quote Link to comment
EfrainChicagoDeepdish
Beginner SPS. Stylophora (I think it spawns every once in a while. Wish I had the patience to grow it from this craft pompom looking thing), pocillopora (heard the same sporing thing), birdsnest, of course digitatas, anacropora. Can't say much for true acros as my sticks are pretty young at the moment but I had a terrible time with keeping a slimer. Sad face. 1 Quote Link to comment
Ratvan
So before I went to bed last night I plucked a bit of GHA off of each of the frag plugs and spotted my Cerith Snail, scooped it up and popped it down on the frag rack. It's cleared the Setosa and Pavona plug already, just the Acro to go. Speaking of the Acro, natural daylight shot. Still fairly bright Puffy and fluffy blue Pavona 2 Quote Link to comment

This guy is extra salty
looks like you need more flow for your macro algae unless you dust them off daily, they're getting choked out 1 Quote Link to comment

I tried dragon's breath a while back and as per usual for me, it disintegrated. It was in an area with enough flow that I couldn't just stick it in the sand bed--I had to wrap it and weigh it down to keep it from running off. But still died. Quote Link to comment
