This Salty Frag Tank

Dang! How things can change quickly! I was enjoying this frag tank build and hope that I can have some space to do this sometime in the future. Good luck with the move and the upgrade.

Well I’m still going to have it running but it will be “ redone” over a weekend.   I will post a boat load of pictures 

 

and I realized I’m going to need a lot of salt..

So Thursday night was a doozie and almost needed to bury someone.

So I come home from work 8:30 PM and I see that my fudge display lights are off

So I asked my soon to be ex-wife what happened she claims she doesn’t know and it was like that when she got home from work. So upon further investigation, i find that my hydra26 was ripped out of the wall (hanging kit) and was “floating” inside the tank WHILE ITS STILL ON!  At the moment my heart dropped when I start excavating all the coral out of my display and out of the display fuge. moving them temporarily into my Frag tanks, Hoping I am able to save them.

at this point I’m pretty sure all of my acros are toast.. but I will keep them in the Frag system just in case they spring back..

 

what died (so far):

 

45 snails (nassarius, trochus, cerith)

2 peppermints

2 sand sifting sea stars 

2 sand sifting sea cucumbers

2 tiger pistol shrimps

1 blue spotted goby

1 sexy shrimp

 

 

I will keep y’all updated on my “move”

I finally got an estimate for the replacement of corals and livestock

the damage was roughly $12k(usd) it was originally at $23k
