Sooooo...I've been holding out a little on you guys :)

I want to share my new project with you! I took over a local store last month and have been putting a ton of work into it. I'm really excited and want to start sharing the progress with you guys! The store was called Coral Reef Aquariums. It's in longwood and some of the locals may know it. The store is under heavy renovations, but it turning out fantastic. We should be up and running in another week. We are shooting for a soft opening this week, and hopefully the grand opening the beginning of next week. Come check me out guys! Just ask for Alex :)

I'm still figuring out names, but it looks like we are going with Modern Aquaria or Modern Aquatics. Here's some of the progress so far

First day I walked in. In need of a little facelift :)

Wasted no time getting to work!

Ripped off the ceiling, stripped the floors, and started building the new fish wall.

All cleaned up, cieling painted, and ready to get some floor work done.

And today after the floors dried. Looks like your walking on water!

I'll update the thread as the store gets ready for the opening. If this is against any ruled mods, just let me know. I just thought it would be cool to share a little progress on the new project.

Those floors are amazing! This store needs a store thread in this area of the forum. I want to tag along and see the progress. Very exciting! My husband would love to own a reef shop.

Tank is doing well, we're doing some renovations here which require it to be taken down for a day or two this weekend and then moved onto a new stand (I prebuilt that to avoid further delays) - so it's pretty much in auto pilot right now. Will use this opportunity to scrub the tank and sump.

And here is the checkout counter. Instead of the glass display, it will house a frag tank for last minute checkout. Also will match the brown stain on the rest of the furniture. Won't be white.

  • 3 weeks later...

Is the cash register frag tank going to be the same dimensions/profile as the glass case shown in the picture? How are you going to light it?

Right now it's lit by a xr15 that I had on the shelf. It will have a nanobox duo on it soon.
