exactlyobp
Really slick build, tank and overflow both look great. Looking forward to seeing how the stand turns out. Thank you Rollajase! exactlyobp
Side note: This is the color I went with for the stand. This laminate is the last piece I'm waiting on at the moment to finish up the stand. Apparently, HD is having a hard time getting this Formica laminate in... I had to compromise and went with matte finish instead of gloss after numerous phone calls. "More waiting, more annoying" Link to comment
MGDMIRAGE
I want your glass shop! Nice work. Do you have that plumbing strapped to the stand? That is my only concern since the tank already has pretty thin(1/4" or so) glass. Link to comment
exactlyobp
This is gonna be slick! Thanks Mojado! Im gonna try my best! I want your glass shop! Nice work. Do you have that plumbing strapped to the stand? That is my only concern since the tank already has pretty thin(1/4" or so) glass. Haha I'm pretty happy with their work That was my concern too tho, I had no idea how it would hold. Turned out, its VERY sturdy. I used RTV silicone. All the PVC pipings are just hanging at the moment. Ill try to take some pics from behind (or wherever) as soon as I'm done with the stand! Link to comment
RiddleEagle18
Very nice build. I have the old all in one solana and I am currently in the process of converting it to this exactly. External overflow with a very similar stand. Cant wait to see this done. What are the dimensions of the overflow? Link to comment
exactlyobp
Thanks RiddleEagle! Overflow box dimensions: 16x3.5x3.5 with 1/4" glass panels. I think I should have used a tad less silicone for sleeker look, but, oh well. Hope this helps! Link to comment
exactlyobp
Ok finallyyyy the Formica sheet is in! Grabbed a can of contact cement and a few misc stuff at the same time. VOILA! Needs a few touch up, but over all, I like it! And yes its ORANGE inside. A few more pics: Behind the scene. Ill post a few trimming pics of Formica later! Link to comment
exactlyobp
Here are quick pics of process of the stand wrap: Apply contact cement on stand: Apply it on cut Formica piece as well, wait for 20 mins, let it dry. Then place it carefully on designated surface. Trim the excess with a router with a "flush drill bit" In this pic below, you can see the cut i made with the router. (bottom) Repeat the process: Trim again: Never used a router before, but you get the hang of it rather fast. Make sure you ware protective goggles! Link to comment

exactlyobp
Heres how the initial % of the Radion is gonna be. It looks pretty much what you see above. The Radion is hung at 11" off the water, 14" off the top of the rock. What do you all think? I really wish i had a PAR meter.. Link to comment

exactlyobp
Wow, the stand turned out great, I'll have to keep that sheeting in mind for future projects. Hey RollaJase thanks! The back side is painted white, and its ugly with all the brush strokes and whatnot, but the fomica sheet came out a lot better than i thought to be honest. Im a happy man ------------ I have been playing with these Radion setting, still trying to figure out how to use it with the seasonal table (if its even possible). VorTech Setting.
