VABumpkin
FellowReefer said on his thread they need to stay in pairs but that photo set showed a large colony of them (6+ shrimp) living under an anemone. Maybe this tank will turn into a bumblebee shrimp party wut wut! Link to comment

VABumpkin
Hmm.... I will think about it. Heater will look ugly though since the top has to be out of water it will stick out like a sore thumb. Link to comment

Or you can go poppy pipes with eheim heater like Rehype's ada 30c, and go in-line heater by hydor so the heater stays hidden. Link to comment

VABumpkin
It's also crazy how cool our Planet was Now global warming is ruining that Our atmosphere will begin to cool again in the next year or so. Scientists predict another ice age may occur as well. don't get your scientific knowledge from Al Gore lol. our CO2 emissions are not really magnifying the heat trapped by the atmosphere, just making the heat spikes last longer. The sun's radiation peaks and then falls every 5 years or so. Don't sweat it. Highest radiation emissions by the sun recorded occurred in the '60's. This past year was a big rise too. Sunspots cause the radiation peaks btw. It's also believed that on top of these sun spot cycles every 5 years, there is a centennial cycle that creates more intense sun spots during the cycle peaks. Again, 2012-2013 was a big time for sunspots. Link to comment

VABumpkin
One thing that helped global warming in the last few yrs was that the Pacific Ocean was in a "cooler-age" of sorts, now it will warm.... Exactly. Because water is one of the best heat retainers, it will help maintain "planetary homeostasis", if you will. During this upcoming period of cooling it will act as another "insulator" for the Earth's heat, keeping temps at near equilibrium. I forgot to mention that there is believed to be an about 30,000 year cycle of the sun that causes major heating and cooling of the Earth. Historically archaeologists have found that ice ages and global warming periods are caused by this cycle. Big heat gains are followed by big heat losses. The heat of the oceans and our increased greenhouse gasses will likely prevent a major ice age like the one that occurred nearly 30,000 years ago, however. Also, considering how resilient and adaptable life on Earth is, any heating or cooling would likely be combated by rapid evolution of ocean organisms. Link to comment
