Toni is still in pre-molt. It came out for a drink yesterday when I spritzed the enclosure with water, but went right back into the cave.

Nice, how big is he now?

(I meant it :) )

Here's a couple more T pics.

lol, alright alright, I'll call it a he. :P

Those T's are gorgeous, as well as the shots. What kind of pp did you do on those, if you don't mind me asking?

I used to spend 30mins to an hr on each photo. I don't have the patience to do that now. First thing I normally do is adjustment the curves, then move onto shadows/highlights, spot treatment, burn/dodge tool to bring out or highlight some details. I normally play around with these settings to get the image the way I like it. Final touches, I use a filter from Redfield to add a smoothness to the image before sharpening and then I add vignetting with a filter called "Bokeh".

Do you have any idea why the images are being compressed when I link them to NR? When I upload them to imageshack, it's nice & sharp. On NR, there's detail lost and the image looks soft. Just wondering. :)

Toni finally molted and came out of hiding after several weeks of pre-molt. Sporting some new shades of blue and green! Its right around 3 inches in legspan now.

Open in new tab for larger images.

Toni looks fabulous. ;)

@Asureef do you position the Tarantulas legs in the photographs? Enjoyed the images, beautiful colors. :)

Yeah, something like that. Though, it's not as easy as with humans. You can't literally tell them what to do or how to pose, takes a lot of patience and practices really.

I can only imagine. A little too strong of a tap or nudge and off your model runs, or shakes fur at you.

Well I was tweezing some junk out of Toni's enclosure and he kicked those hairs at me for the first time. He was PO'd, lol.

Here was my favorite.

:welcome: to NR! Thanks for sharing!

I miss keeping T's.

I gave up after so many bad molts, But I'm hoping to get a T.Blondi sometime in the future.

Sorry you had trouble before!

Also, I looooove jumping spiders.

Some Arachnids from my neck of the woods. Just after sunset is a good time to find them out and about.

As far as I have been able to tell this is just called a Desert Tarantula.
