Nano sapiens

Nice, looks like the Cadlights has become a Mantis haven :)

Great tank for it since the glass is quite thick for its size and should withstand a few 'bangs' from a Mantis.

Nasty looking - watch out for your fingers :) but I am sure you know that.

Albert

Started my CAD12g back up.

Just got my “Odontodactylus scyllarus” this afternoon from DiversDen.

She is going to live in a PVC tube in my ADA reef tank sump until the 12g is done cycling.

It will have 20lbs of course live sand and 10lbs of Eco Dry rock from BRS plus a few pieces

of coralline encrusted rock from my ADA Reef tank. Will add to this build thread as the 12g takes shape...

Drip acclimated her and placed in my sump. Sorry about the bad pics. Quickies taken with my iP4s.

Will get better pics later.

Thank NS... She never did hit the glass...

A Mantis breaking the glass is just a reefing (urban) legend fingerscrossed

You want shoes? I want shrimp. Make it happen?

A Mantis? Pistol? Sexies? Camel? Blood? Bumble Bee? (insert other guesses’ here)

kittykat, that request is very open to speculation

Just waiting on an email from suppliers...

Its not that simple kittykat, one does not simply go and buy a mantis shrimp

Sure you do! Just find the one/type you want first and then go buy it :P

That's what I did anyways...Well, sort of. I researched first to find a LFS that had the type I wanted in stock. Then I went a bought it.

What type are you looking to get now anyways ?

Orange Spot Mantis (Gonodactylaceus ternatensis)

And Like I said... One does not simply go and by a mantis... So if you can go out and buy a rare one now, your one step ahead of me.

Also... One does not simply buy from any ole LFS or Supplier.

And where are pictures of the scoly?

Meh... I'm to lazy to take pictures lately... I will do one for you this weekend k?

EDIT: I have pictures of my other ones in my ADA thread kittykat

LFS in dallas has a P. Ciliata and an O. Scyllarus. I wish I had a free tank big enough for either one. :(
